Question about HP Compaq 6510b Notebook PC

1 Answer

HP 6510b Hi, My notebook HP 6510b crashed last night, I had all my data onto the C drive. I ran the Recovery for HP (may it was formatting the hard drive) and now my windows xp seems to be reloaded, but I couldnt find MS Office or Antivirus (or anything else) installed on the system. Moreover, most importantly, What about my previous data? Is it all gone? or is there a way I can recover that? Please help.!! Thanks, Nitin

Running recovery reformats your harddrive to factory defaults and does wipe out all data. Any programs will have to be reinstalled and reactivated.

To get your data back you would need to import it from a backup or send it out to a company that specializes in recovering lost data... at a hefty price.

Sorry 'bout that.

Noisy harddisk failed

Hi there,

This video isn't for your model, but it will give you a general idea of removing the hard drive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a7pwc7dl3w

Once you've removed the drive you'll need to either plug it into a desktop or get a hard drive caddy from a local electronics store.

Then you can use EaseUS recovery found here http://www.easeus.com/download.htm
to try to recover data from the drive, but to be honest, if it's actually making noise, that means it's had a head crash or something similar and you chances of getting data are pretty slim.

Thanks,

Liam.

I have accidentally formatted my partition drive f

Deleting or formatting won't make the data in computer hard drive erased permanently.

Those deleted data is still stored on the computer hard drive , it's just invisible or inaccessible. Only the FAT or NFTS table is erased (the information about where those data were saved), but the real data are still intact there in sectors of the hard drive.

So as long as those data are not overwritten by new data, it's highly possible to recover them. And the MOST Effective way is to rely on some format recovery programs.

Try asoftech data recovery program, which can recover data after deeply scanning your computer hard drive to look for lost data you accidentally deleted or formatted. download the software from link below

So, can you see it in My Computer? If yes, get your data off the drive and format it!

If you can't access your files, data recovery software can help.I used this one called Tenorshare Data Recovery to retrieve files off crashed HDD and it worked.
If needed, you can download it and scan your hard drive for free to preview whether your files can be recovered.Get it from http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoveryprofessional.htm

When I login I can move my mouse but everything else is unresponsiven - I dont weant to format my Toshiba Staellite pro L 300 . Is there a reset button or soemthing I can do

Remove the hard drive and put it into an enclosure. Plug it into another computer as a slave. Then you can copy your files on it.
If it shows up in 'my computer' as a drive letter(like E: drive) but you can't access it, you can recover data from hard drive with data recovery program. This data recovery is a professional data recovery program that can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data due to drives crash, physical damage, system sabotage, virus attack etc. You can get it here:
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/
After you recover your data, you can format it to check out whether it can be fixed.
