Download the driver you need from this link, and install the driver.

then the printer should work. Leave the printer disconnected from the computer until the installer tells you to connect the printer.

I can't take out CD from the DVD drive. When I right click on my computer/E-drive the laptop stops(hangs?).

Welcome to Fixya.

Here are my recommendations for you to eject the disc out of the DVD drive.
  • Get a paper clip
  • Turn off the computer
  • Take a close look on the DVD drive, you should find a tiny hole where a paper clip's end can be fitted.
  • Straighten the end of the paper clip and carefully jam it in the hole
  • This should eject the disc from the drive and you can use the DVD drive as normal
Possible cause of this can be attributed to improper inserting of the disc (or anything similar).

I hope this helps,

Thanks for using Fixya.

Lexmark 4800 wireless printer...when printing from a laptop the print is smudged

You aren't giving a lot of details here, but let's try a couple of things to see if we can clear this up. I am working from the assumption that you are talking about wireless printing, and am going to recommend that you try a test page with the laptop hooked to the printer by the USB cable. Are the results the same? If so, is the print clear when you print a test page from the printer's own maintenance menu? If so the problem is either the paper (moisture content) or the way in which the paper is being presented to the print head (possibly rubbing it a bit - again not enough info one the problem). If the smudging only occurs when printing from the laptop, be certain that you have the correct drivers installed.

Printer shows ready, whenI send a print job to the printers it displays printing, but does not print. The unable to cancel or remove printing jobs.

Check if the printhead starts moving when powering on the printer. The problem might lie in the printhead electrical contact pints in which case clean it gently. Alternatively replace the print cartridge where at least black ink is present. If these are OK but it wont pull in the paper then the rollers might be jammed. If its a laser printer, check by changing the tober cartridge amd post the result as a comment.........sodeep

About using custom size page setup. 7" x 10". It takes it as B5 setting.

Your printer paper tray paper size is not set properly. Check the paper tray side guide and make sure it is adjusted properly to size of the paper you are trying to print. If this is a printer go to print property or printing preference and select the paper size. I hope this will help you solve the problem.

I have a Dell 946 printer and Im trying to print Avery 8871 business card sheets. When I press print the printer will not feed the sheet through and it says there is no paper. I tried to adjust the...

I looked up the user guide at Dell's website and looked up printing cards.

  • The print side of the cards faces down.
  • The cards are centered on the paper exit tray.
  • You select Automatic, Normal, or Photo print quality.

  • Apparently you need to feed the card stock one page at a time into the printer on TOP of the paper exit try (The card stock will feed in from above the normal paper load try [remove paper from the paper tray] and once printed come back to the same spot.

Go to Control Panel -> Printer and Faxes, then open the printer. Right click on your printer, then turn off "Pause Printing" or "Use Printer Offline".
If still not working, restart Printer Spooler service. You can access it from Control Panel: Administrative Tools: Services.

Have installed new printer a message pops up saying the printer is out of paper even though there is plenty of paper in tray.

    Hey buddy,

    Follow the below steps:

    Step one:
Check the media and print settings
While the printer is on, remove the power cord from the back of the printer, wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
If the printer is not already on, turn it on by pushing the power button.
Replace any paper that is ripped, dusty, wrinkled, or bent. If the paper is curled, uncurl the paper by gently bending it in the opposite direction of the curl or replace the paper.
NOTE: Use plain paper in the unit until the issue is resolved.
Verify that all the paper is the same size and type.
Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.
Verify that the stack of paper to be loaded in the unit contains between 10 and 25 sheets of paper.
NOTE: Do not load too much paper in the printer.
Insert the stack of paper into the printer and then gently push the paper guides snugly against the paper.
Adjust the paper settings in the print driver. The paper settings in the print driver must match the paper settings for at least one of the installed paper trays.
Open a document in the application in which it was created.
    Click File .
    Click Print .
Click Properties . The Printer Properties dialog box displays.
    Click the Paper/Quality tab.
In the Size is drop-down menu, select the size of the paper loaded in the unit.
In the Type is drop-down menu, select the type of paper loaded in the unit.
    Click OK .
NOTE: These changes do not change the default print settings. The print settings will revert to the default print settings the next time the application is opened.
On the Print dialog box, click OK to print the document.
Try printing again. If the issue is not solved, continue on to the next section.
NOTE: If the issue is resolved and you want to print on another type of media, change the paper in the unit and then repeat steps 2 through 7 for the new media.
    Step two: Clean the rollers
Turn off the product and unplug the power cord.
Open the access door to gain access to the rollers. Depending on the model, this is usually the rear access door. See the product user guide for information about locating the rollers.
Clean the rubber rollers with a lint-free cloth, lightly moistened with water.
NOTE: Distilled, filtered, or bottled water is recommended for cleaning the rollers. Tap water might contain contaminants that can damage the rollers.
Make sure that any paper rollers that rest on the input tray, which are located behind the back rollers, are cleaned. A clean cotton swab, lightly moistened with water, might be necessary to reach these rollers.
Close the access door and plug in the power cord.
Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, continue to the next step.
    Step three: Service the product
If you have completed all the steps and are still experiencing a problem, service your product.

    Cause of this problem:

Any of the following issues can cause the error message to appear:
The paper trays are empty or overloaded.
    The paper is curled.
The print side, or shiny side, of the paper is not loaded in the input tray face down.
The paper might not be engaged with the feed rollers.
The paper-width guide is pressed against the paper stack too tightly.
The paper tray is not completely inserted into the product.
The paper settings in the print driver do not match the paper loaded in the paper tray.
The rubber paper-feed rollers are coated with dust.

    Hi ChasAtPark -

Can you please clarify how you are unable to print disc labels? Can you print in other applications? Do you have your latest drivers for your printer? Are these paper labels or lightscribe?

Also, you can submit a free web-ticket here (must be registered) if you prefer one on one support.

    Thanks,

obviously your prblem is your printer... its either there has been a paper jam on your computer.. try to check the paper tray and look for something that has jammed your printer.. take it out..

another option woud be to try to view the status monitor of your printer. it is usually located at the system tray of your desktop... you can view there what is exactly happening to your printer..
