There are two possiblities, first is your data cable it may damage so you need to change it or your data cable not plugged properly so check it. Secondly, you need to reset your boot order to resolve your issue.

The problem is likely to be with the internal hard drive. Try removing the hardrive and putting it back again incase it is a bad connection. If this does not work then your hard drive is probably faulty.

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard diskhas failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If this does not work then reboot and go to theBIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn'tdetect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to determine if thehard drive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirms the hard drive is faulty. The hard drive needs to bereplaces in the laptop and Windows installed and the laptop's device driversand your programs etc to get a functioning laptop again.

In IBM system X3550 M3 server pxe e61 media test failure check cable error is coming and when i mam trying to install OS Partition will not show. pls give me solution.

This sounds like you are asking two different questions. PXE booting would be the way you would begin installing or loading an operating system. "Media test failure" errors would indicate a lack of network connectivity on the network interface that you're trying to PXE boot from.

You go on to mention an OS partition not showing... So did you resolve the PXE media test failure issue?

Your question is unclear and unanswerable in it's current state. BE CLEAR, CONCISE AND SPECIFIC.

Once powered on it goes to black screen and says - INVALID SYSTEM DISC,replace the disc, and then press any key.

Are you sure the BIOS is set to boot from hard disk?
It looks like it is trying to boot from network (PXE) and then from floppy disk.

The system is not finding any bootable media (Hard Drive) and is attempting to boot via the network card (PXE Boot) the error message is saying that there is not PXE network to boot from and it is exiting the process.
Generally, this is caused by a hard Drive failure. Reseat the drive and or drive connections and see if the system will find the hard drive.

When turning my laptop on i get a message media test failure

You see this message when the laptop trying to boot from a remote server using the network card. If you didn’t see the PXE-E61 message before, it means that the network card was listed after the hard drive in the boot order (you can set the order in BIOS) and the laptop booted directly from the hard drive. Now, when the hard drive has failed, the laptop cannot detect it and tries to boot from the next available device – the network card. Your laptop is not configured to boot from a remote server using the network card, that’s why you are getting PXE-E61 Media test failure error. You have to replace the hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

PXE-E61 Media test Failure

hy i have your solution.its simple. the problem is remote network data entry that start in the bios systems, produce by a virus call downloader.trojan or bootable Tj.exe, normally the bios has to read it and it gives the error " media test faliurecheck cables",ir you dont repaired quickly your laptop or desktop eventually will not boot the windows att all, this have to be kill before that happens, First of all clean your pc with Trojan Remover and then do just a simple task restart your desktop or laptop and do not let it initiate windows just press F2 at the bios and go to the Bios program and then go to the tab name Bios and press F9 that means "default bios systems" and everything will change in your bios and when your desktop or pc restart it will never show that message again and your bios will initiate with no problems and the virus that put that into your pc will no longer control your bios system.

I’m almost positive that you have a bad hard drive. PXE means Pre-Boot Execution Environment.

when the hard drive has failed, the system cannot detect it and tries to boot from the next available device – the network card.
