my hp 5650 is very slow printing - 10 minutes per page. It just started when I replaced the black ink cartridge, but I think that is a coincidence.

My hp 5610 all in one was doing this too and it drove me nuts! at first it resolved itself for a day and then the problem came back. made me think it was a software or driver issue since I had done some work on the computer components but then, after trying all 11 steps (except cartridge replacement) that HP suggested in the online troubleshooter, I tried switching to another set of cartridges (not even new ones OR HP genuine) and, voila, my probelm was solved. my speculations here: the refilled cartridges i was using may have been refilled several times and the electrical contacts were worn out or oxidized. i sure hope this helps someone else out too!

I had the EXACT same problem withe a photosmart 2610. I only print in black so I have no need for color. But it seems this printer will act like this when the color cartridge is bone dry. Replace color with HP95 cartridge and printing normal now. Unbelieveable that HP would force you to buy a color cartridge even though it's never being used.

Slow printing, if caused from the side of the computer, rather than the printer, may be caused by the computer's CPU (main processing chip) being overloaded. I experimented with a program named "Smart Ram" that comes as one of the optional Utilities available through Advnced SystemCare Free, available free (obviously) at http://www.iobit.com/allproducts.html.

By Clicking the "Go! Deep Clean" button a few times, I freed up considerable RAM, so that 2/3 of my 1.5 MB of RAM (around 1060 KB) is now available, AND CPU usage dropped dramatically from nearly 100% to under 40%, so that the CPU is now available for use in the printing process.

Bottom line, printing speed is now up to normal for my printer, which is quite acceptable. Other RAM Optimizer programs might work as well, but since Smart RAM is available for FREE and works so well, I would not bother with others.

Tip

10 reasons why PCs crash-You must know tip 7

7 Printers

The action of sending a document to print creates a bigger file, often called a postscript file.

Printers have only a small amount of memory, called a buffer. This can be easily overloaded. Printing a document also uses a considerable amount of CPU power. This will also slow down the computer's performance.

If the printer is trying to print unusual characters, these might not be recognised, and can crash the computer. Sometimes printers will not recover from a crash because of confusion in the buffer. A good way to clear the buffer is to unplug the printer for ten seconds. Booting up from a powerless state, also called a cold boot, will restore the printer's default settings and you may be able to carry on.

Hoshisaki makes ice to slow

not sure what "too slow" is to you. Hoshi machines are designed to make more ice per batch but less batches per day. It is not unusual for a batch to take 25-35 minutes for one batch. The 1600 makes a lot of ice per batch. Look for some obvious things. If air cooled condenser, be sure it is clean. Make sure the water to the machine is not Hot water. It is not unusual to get Hot water feedback in a restaurant environment. Check for a leaking water valve. A sticking float can also cause long freeze cycles. Start with that and let me know if I can be of any further help,.

Hi,

Any other unusual things happening besides it's working too slow ?

Might want to check for viruses, they usually eat up computer resources.

Slow oil leakage. It leaks a quart of oil about every 2000 miles is it the seals or what else could it be?

It could be burning the oil also ... 1 quart in 2000 miles on a 20 + year old car is not unusual. You may want to use some engine treatment (STP for example) that may slow the loss.

Time is slow, not accurate at TAG QUARTZ watch

Rarely but sometimes, even the jewelers batteries can be low on energy even when new.

Very unusual that an expensive watch does what you're saying.

Has the watch ever been dropped, OR does it have any noticeable scatches or scuff marks along the edges? use a magnifying glass to inspect it carefully.

if you find unusual marks or scratches, you may have been sold a bad watch too.
