Where can i get a full manual for my new camera? i purchased it from AMAZON and it came with Fench instructions , they tell me to down load the manuel but i would like a booklet so i can read it on Holidy next week ! can you help !
Nikon can provide manuals for fee, but if you contact their Technical Support Group by phone they'll more likely send you one free of charge if you ask.
If that doesn't work, then contact their USA Division Corporate Offices during regular business hours and ask for the Digital Photography Group, they may ask you what part of the country you're calling from and transfer you to a regional office but that is fine.
Explain to them you have only the paper French manual and would like English, offer to send them your French one in trade but they'll likely just send you one w/o requiring the trade.

Have you set the date and time? If so then your camera's date battery is probably dead and needs to be replaced. First get yourself a CR1220 battery, most often found at your local Radio Shack or online at amazon. Then open the camera's terminal cover (where your USB is) and using your fingernail. Open the battery holder, remove the old battery, and replace with the new one. Reinsert the holder with new battery in your camera and turn on your unit. set the date and time and you should be all set. For further information see your instruction manual or download from Canon at:
I wish camera makers would stop including internal memory on their cameras. It causes nothing but headaches. Go into your menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, go into the menu and find "reset'...follow the on-screen instructions. Then, insert the card and do the format thing again to erase the card and optimize it. You should be ok now.
