Question about Cosco Alpha Omega Elite 5-Point 22-155
I bought a Alpha Omega Elite car seat and have misplaced the users manuel. I bought it while I was still pregnant and now need to get ready to use it because the baby is almost 22 pounds. So I really want to know how to install it properly, ect. because it looks complicated!!! I got this seat while I was pregnant, and i misplaced the instruction manuel. My child is now big enough to use the seat, but i don't know how to properly set it up because I have no instruction manuel.
You can get a new manual free of charge from the manufacturer, Dorel Juvenile Group, at www.djgusa.com or by calling their toll-free number (1-800-219-0509). You will need the model number and the date of manufacture, both of which are located on a sticker on the side of the carseat. You may also want to check out www.carseat.org/recalls, as some of the AOE's have been recalled for problems with the harness. It's no big deal; if your seat is one of the recalled ones, just mention it when ordering your manual and they will send you a repair kit for free.
Another option is to check with your local police department and/or County Health Department to see if there is a Certified Carseat Safety Technician available to help you. They are trained in the proper installation of carseats and will show you how to install yours correctly, for free. You should probably do this anyway, as about 98% of all child safety seats are installed incorrectly (even when parents have followed the directions in the manual). Good luck!
