Question about LG Washing Machines
Unplug the unit and let it sit unplugged for 30 minutes. There is a power filter on the AC input line and sometimes power surges can cause it to need to bleed off the voltage from capacitors. There is a test procedure to see if the filter needs to be replaced but so far every time this has happened to our Calpyso, we pull the plug for a bit and the washer recovers.
There isn't enough space on this text box to post the removal & replacement procedure for the line filter, but you can find it at www.pcappliancerepair.com and look up the part # on the Sears Parts Direct site for your model # specifically.

Hello sidneyskiss - From what you have described if only the normal cycle is working, then there seems to be a communication problem coming from the main control board or wiring failure. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart washer. If it proves to be ineffective, I would suggest contacting a professional technician to move forward accurately.
