Hi, lets make sure you're hard drive is ok first.
The hard drive LED light staying on means the drive has some issues.
Enter you're bios by pressing the Delete every two seconds until the main bios menu loads. (Hope fully you'll have display on you're monitor while in the bios screen). (Instruction on how to move about in the bios is listed at the bottom of the menu.
Highlight Standard CMOS Features & press enter to open. Check if you're IDE Primary Master hard drive is listed. If yes & windows is not loading there may be a problem with the File Allocation Table, known as the FAT. Load you're windows CD into you're CD-ROM drive. Exit the bios. The system will auto restart. As the system begins to start up, begin pressing the F8 key every two seconds. This should bring up the, "Please select boot device" window. Highlight the CD-ROM by using the up/down arrow keys to the drive that has the windows CD in it & press enter. If windows does not see you're hard disk drive than there is something wrong with the drive. The drive just may have reached its end. To be 100% sure this is the case you'll need to download & create a bootable manufactures floppy disk that will check you're primary master drive. Look on the large white sticker on the drive & find its maker. Example: Seagate, Western Digital, Maxtor. ECT. Go to their web site & download their setup or tools & utilities software for creating a bootable floppy disk. Once created insert it into you're floppy drive & restart or start up the PC. The manufactures floppy software will load. (This software works out side of windows in a Dos-like mode). Instructions for testing/using will be listed on the manufactures web site. It’s very possible the floppy software can breath new life to you're drive. The bad news it will also erase you're drive. If there is a major issue that can not be repaired by the floppy disk than you will have done what good PC repair shop would have tried. Buy a new IDE drive. Let’s just hope the software can repair/fix the hard drive.

Good luck dintoe!
If you run into trouble just let me know & I'll help you through it.

EMachines eMD620 suddenly shutdown and not boot anymore

When this happened was the laptop overly hot? If the laptop's head got too high it could have shutdown to protect itself. It wouldn't boot until the heat had disparate. Sit you laptop aside for about 30 minutes and see if it will boot then. If it does you might want to check out a cool mat.

Laptop screen wont boot

If you don't see the initial BIOS screen you could have a problem with one of the following.
  • A bad motherboard
  • Bad memory
  • In some cases a bad Hard drive

Remove the hard drive and memory (both typically removed from panels on the back. Try rebooting. If you get the HP BIOS screen then either the memory or hard drive is bad. Add each back in one at a time and reboot until you find the problem device and replace. I would also power on the computer and use a flash light on the screen. If you see a faint image of what you should normally see then you have a bad inverter. Lastly your motherboard is bad, not a lot you can do to test that.

Once I turn on the laptop it stays stuck on the LG Splash screen, I press F2 to enter bios setup but it just stays on the splash screen, and nothing progresses, I can't do anything,

I've seen issues like this with a bad hard drive. When entering the bios it queries the hard drive first and it's got issues it can hang it up like this. If you have a spare try that. You can try to boot it without a hard drive to see if it gets past this. Some computers won't boot without a hd though. If you've got another computer you can look around online to make a flash drive bootable and use that instead of your hard drive. Lastly, get a new hd.

My samsung r519 wont turn on. when i press the on button i here the fan going, yet the screen stay's black and only the power light comes on. what could the problem be?

Does the fan stay running? if it does! it is probably a motherboard issue, if the fan is working correctly it should wind down, and if the hard drive is working "hard drive light will flicker" hook a external monitor to the video output on the back of your laptop if you see windows boots up then it would indicate laptop screen problem, but if the fan and the power light are the only activity then the motherboard is the problem.

When pluged into outlet fans spins and doesnt stop, wont boot

Fan spinning hard is usually a CPU issue.
If you've made any hardware changes to your computer, undo them. This happened to me when I was trying to upgrade my Processor (CPU) and I had the wrong kind.

Computer wont power up. Light stay amber and fan come on

Hi. No I think mobo is ok as you've got power to fan and lights. Are the drives kicking in? if yes then I think its your memory. Also if the drives are kicking in then your cpu is also ok. So that leaves the memory and graphics card. Good luck

Toshiba Satellite P200 doesn't boot

Try pressing FN/F5 keys simultaneously, or the key that toggles internal/external Display. Look for the double screen Icons on the keys.

Tap the Pause Key.

Restart and press and hold F8 key when Toshiba logo appears. When the boot Menu appears, select Last Known Good Configuration.

If all else fails ther should be a reset button on the side of the LT. Consult owners Manual for location

Emachines 1900+ gets power to the monitor and computer but wont boot

There could be a number of causes. Do you hear any beeps when the computer starts up? Try seating all the chips in the motherboard. That means, apply pressure to each individual chip on the motherboard with your finger or thumb. The goal is to make sure each chip is securely attached to the board. Sometimes, heat or new h/w installs partially "pop" some of the chips out of the motherboard - causing the circuitry to be disconnected...

Emachines 1900+ gets power to the monitor and computer but wont boot

Buy a dianostics card, and find out if its the RAM, CPU, OR Motherboard. (sounds like a ram or CPU problem though) if you have more than one stick of ram in the system, take one out, and power it up, if still not response, to the other stick out, and put the stick you took out the first time, and put it back in.
