The model canon camcorder is MV800i , the cassette is a TDK mini dv 60.
The loading mechanism will operate correctly with no tape installed but as soon as the mentioned tape is installed it wont even allow the tape to lower into the camcorder and after 5 seconds reopens and the lcd display says "remove the cassette".The camcorder is plugged into the power adapter and shows full charge, so low power is not the problem.
OK after searching the net to fix this problem and no one having the answer I decided to fix it my self.
My Canon MV 800i cam had the same fault to I took it to bits. Inside there’s the cams main board that has loads of ribbon cable connecting on to it from its bits like lens, power supply, viewfinder , cassette deek. I unplugged all of these and removed its main board and cleaned all the ribbon cables connecting end with isopropyl alcohol, you can use most electrical cleaners should do the some trick. Then just reassembled the cam and tested all fixed Give that a go and see how you get on

Cannot turn off flight mode on an MC50 so it will not transmit to my wireless network
Ekse: I see your having issues with your Symbol MC50 pocket pc / phone? the flightmode is stuck on?
Ekse: are you there?
Ekse: I guess you are not there but I think I can solve this problem and hopefully you will see my comments at some point
Read more Ekse: First you should try performing a normal reset
Ekse: there is the small reset button on the back of the unit. perform the normal reset and see if the problem persists
Ekse: if the problem persists back up any data from the phone to your computer, and then perform a hard reset, Howl down the power and right scan buttons, then press and release the reset, and then let go of the power and right scan buttons.
Ekse: the hard reset wipes the handheld and returns it to factory defaults, you will be online after the hard reset. then just restore your data from your desktop computer and your good to go.
Ekse: if you need further assistance you can reach me on email - or on the website.
If you can get the tape out of there, you should run a tape cleaner in the unit. If you can't remove the tape, you should take it to a camera store or Best Buy to get it removed professionally then clean the tape heads.
The phone may require to have its operating system purged and then reloaded. There may be some corruption in the system. The only other fault that can normally cause this is an intermittent hardware failure. The only way to know for sure is to start by having the operating system and all the software re-loaded as like when the phone was new. Don't add back any other optional non original programs until you established that the phone is working properly.
A common cause of damage to the operating system, is when people load in various non approved programs and utilities. Some of these programs may have errors in their code, and thus cause fault conditions.
We use Blackberries in our facility. When the users start to load in various programs from all over we start to have some very interesting fault conditions. Purging and reloading the complete operating system is usually the fix unless there is a hardware failure.
