Monitor fails to activate. When turned on: - green light shows for a second or so, screen flashes - green light turns off and screen goes blank - after several second this repeats Monitor now stuck in...

You can try replacing the power supply/inverter board or troubleshoot it down to component level.
It can be the fuse, transistors, bad solder joints, bad lamps assembly, etc.

My computer monitor is a black screen....the light is lit solid green and I can hear the software playing just no picture

If the light is green, I suspect that the backlight has gone out on you. This could also be caused by you having the brightness turned all the way down.

Hello, my dell 15'' flat screen moniter doeas not want to work. unlike us! LOL Any way the monitors green light comes on and thats it. no message, no error, just black death. help?

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder jopints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed DELL monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Monitor won't come back from "sleep" setting.

Yes it can be, try it on other PC first to narrow down the problem.
Most problems in the Dell are failed transistors, poor solder works, see pictures here for guide: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you find.

Dell flat screen started flashing, green light was blinking then screen went blank and green light is on. Tried unplugging etc...time for a new one?

No. It is not a Flat Screen issue. It is a CPU issue. You CPU is not sending signal to your flat screen so the green light is flashing. Try to:

1. Reset OR
2. Unplug the CPU case, Open the CPU, the interchange the RAM modules, OR
3. Same with step 2 but unplug and then plug back in all expansion cards like audio, video cards, etc.

It seems that your system needs discharging from a frozen state.

Regards!

Black screen on monitor when plugged in., no picture at all

When you plug in the monitor no lights come on at all green, orange nothing ?
Try
1. Using a new power cord ( maybe something is wrong with it)
2. Plugging it into a new socket on the wall.

If you can't get power to the monitor at all you may be in for buying a new one.

Bank Monitor problems

Unplug the cable from your PC, if the monitor shows a test image, the monitor is fine and the problem is with your graphic card. If you dont see nothing on-screen after unpluging the cable from the PC, then the monitor in damaged. Send it to repair.
