I have the same problem, only had the phones a month and given the cost, I am not happy. Also often experience crackling and lack interference when talking, where others cant hear me. I have to move. Any suggestions

When using the handset to make a phone call I can hear the echo of my own voice.

The problem is improved when using handsfree/speakerphone, I asume because the noise cancelling circuit dampens local noise/feedback.

The problem does not occur when making making intercom calls to other handsets in the house, the audio is perfect ie, no echo.

I have exactly the same problem, this sucks. Its not a cheap phone!! HELP!

  • mclellansNZ Oct 06, 2008

    Me too!
Also about 30 seconds into every call there is a lot of crackly interference, almost like a dial-up noise (although we don't have any bluetooth etc. in the house) that lasts for about 5 seconds. Sometimes the echo disappears after this.

We have the same problem, an echo on the phone line but not intercom. Sometimes I don't notice it on the phone line either - but maybe it is happening and I just don't hear it.

Same problem with Uniden 9035 - can hear echo of own voice at start of call either incoming or outgoing, seems to settle after a while, but very annoying!

Echo when I talk on the phone; sometimes loud sometimes soft. Returned the phones and get a new set and the problem persists. I have an old 4-year-old uniden that works better than this.

Yep exactly the same problem. Seems like a lot of the uniden's have this problem. Given this is a top end phone this is dissapointing! Surely there must be some sort of fix.

Since 31st December I have purchased and returned 3 different models of Uniden cordless phones and am now trying out the 4th! Each phone echoes worse than the last. Each has three handsets and a base. Every time I speak longer than two minutes, the phone echoes so loudly I can hardly hear myself speak. Doesn't matter which room I use or which handset, its all the same. My 3 yo Panasonic handset doesn't do this. Any suggestions?

First few minutes of every call have an echo. How stupid is that.

Hi, I have a dect 2035 and began having the same problem. I don't know how the feedback came about but it was suddenly there today when I tried using the phone. After mucking around with one of the handsets I hit the speakerphone button and turned the volume all the way down, it only goes down to a preset minimum, I then turned speakerphone off again and turned the volume for regular handset mode all the way down too. The phone works beautifully again!

Hi I also have a new Uniden dect 2035 cordless phone & answer machine with the same echo problem. I also suggest it is speaker phone related but for the unweary that is difficult to pick as the volume button has a dual function. With the phone in call mode (dial tone) press the volume button once so see the earpiece volume level - us the up or down button to set that correctly. Push the volume button again & a squareish icon on the display show you are in speaker mode. The same +/- appears so turn that one to low. Repeat that on any related handsets. It has worked for me.

Thanks so much, I think the echo problem is universal in this model, but I tried your fix (the speakerphone & normal phone have different volume settings), my speakerphone was on full volume so I've turned that right down and the echo seems much much less. Thanks!

Echo in ear when talking

The echo is normally caused by the phone company, not the phone itself. Can you verify that another phone in your home is not having the same issue?

I have recently purchased a DECT Elite 9035 with an additional handset and can't get the answering system will not record any incoming messages. I have done everything that it says in the instruction...

Uniden Australia has offered to replace the phone free of charge.
I feel that I should not have to pay for support when the phone is only about eight days old.

Uniden powermax x 2.4 ghz lost call

If it's in warranty, I would send it back. It sounds like a problem with the built-in amplifier and possibly other components.
The squealing and echo is down to gain being too high, if you cannot set this on the phone, then it's a fixed value in the hardware. If you can, lower the gain. As for not being able to end the call, what about pressing the "c" button or the green button again?
