I have a dead ge spacesaver jvm230vw001 microwave. How do i remove it from the wall so I can go get a new one?

First, unplug the microwave
Second, if it is vented outside, disconnect the duct from the microwave.

Then, there should be 3 screw in the cabinet above the microwave that hold it upright, remove those 3 screws and it should tilt down, and then you just lift the rear of the microwave to get it off of the bracket that is on your wall, and that should be it.

    there weren't three screws, only two, and loosening them didn't help get the set down.....

    The Microwave light and fan turn on when the door is closed. closing the door very very slow and slightly lifting it up is the only way around this.. this is a GE spacesaver unit in the wall.
    the lower door switch is bad, check for burns on connector as well

    My spacesaver dated September of 2004 shuts off
    I solved the problem by buying a new microwave and it was not a GE. I feel that GE should have had a recall on this problem, since it seemed to be a major problem in their system. I will never buy another GE product.
