Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

What does it mean when your hitachi big screan tv wont come back on and the red light in fron keeps flashing ?

It means that you are sending a high resolution or framerate HZ not supportd by the Hitachi.
Try to start from 1024 at 60 HZ and then you step up a level at the time.
until you can see at max supported resolution

Can't turn on from Stanby mode

I would assume the power board has a problem. A tech could possibly repair it without replacing the whole board.

To connect my Logitech X540 to my Hitachi L42VP01U

the suggestion to my guess is right, audio input to the line out jack on tv for it too work you would need the head phone jack witch would go in to auido in an split to RCA Audio out (TV) Witch meaning, adapter to convert regular RCA type (red/white) connectors to a standard mini plug (Headphone type) Hope it Works
