not sure if you are doing it right your wireless router has 2 "sides" one is it's upload, it's wan network and that is where you should set DHCP - so that the router itself gets an ip from your LAN other side is behind your wireless router and there DHCP should also be off. it would be best if you could put your router in bridged mode - just to extend your network over WIFI
Hi! I tried to figure out some explanation, and I think it's possible that both WAN side of the router and LAN side of it have same types od ip adresses, maybe the default 192.168.1.***. That means that the WAN port of the Router, the ethernet port of the modem, the wireless and LAN ports of the router have same tuype of adresses, maybe all asigned by DHCP. To be sure, I suggest you to: 1. turn of the modem 2. check that the network connection obtains ip adress automatically 3. in a dos prompt (START - RUN -CMD) type IPCONFIG, it will return among other infos the adress of the default gateway. 4. now type that adress in the browser. 5. if it works, log on to the router and change the LAN settings so that the adresses used in the LAN will be different from the WAN, let's say 10.10.10.1 and so on
go back and check your settings for the router--make sure everything is configured for the network. all the lights will be on even if something is connected wrong or not configured. correctly.
I don't understand how your router crashing and your files on disk are connected.
The internal disk will not be affected by the router. There will be another reason for this.
Check that your master and slave jumper settings are correct. The main bootable disk should be master, and the secondary disk slave. Ensure that you're using the correct IDE lead (master black, slave grey). Alternatively use CableSelect.
I think I have the solution: you have to click on the basic settings tab, then n "site survey" button, then (optional) on "refresh" button. Now you will get the information about your network, and you just have to check the channel number of the signal from your main router. then you have to set that channel in the "channel" button of the basic settings tab. You also have to choose Universal repeater as working mode of the sitecom device, instead of Access Point. Hope it helps. By the way, all these settings should be automatic in such a device.... But this sitecom range extender is ****. I suggest everybody is reading: DON,T BUY THIS ITEM!!!! Spend 10 bucks more and get a working one!!!
I am buying the ASUS 4G machine and have a USB router connecting to Vodaphone through the molbile network. Without installing Windows XP can I connect the wireless modem to the little computer. Cheers Nick W
If you press and hold the reset button on the router for about 30-45 seconds, it should reset all settings on the unit. Generally by default there is no security enabled so you will need to set this up if you want to secure your connection.
This 10dBi omni directional antenna enables you to very easily extend the range of your wireless network. By linking the Omni Antenna to your wireless router, you gain the benefits of an optimum wireless signal while minimising the number of ‘dead spots’ (points in your home where the signal is either weak or lost). However it does not fit the following types of routers, modems and accespoints: WL-143 WL-122v2 WL-114/WL-517 WL-114v2 WL-108/WL109 WL-111 WL-106 WL-025 WL-018v2
These antenne's will also fit other brands of wireless products that use an SMA connector
