My LCD has seemed to stop working, I get brown lines and white squares.........is this fixable issue at home or need I send t sony?

If the LCD doesn't work at all, you can't see menus or play back old pictures then the LCD is damaged and needs to be replaced. Sounds like this is the case, it's about a $130 repair including the part, installation and return shipping of the camera. Hope this helps!

I cannot see anything through the viewfinder or LCD other than menu, etc. The lens cap is off.

if the camera will take pictures then the probem is in the play back. If nothing works the sensor is bad. It would be best to send it back to canon.

There was an earlier post that explained the black ribbon between the LCD viewfinder and the body of the camera is split. You would have to buy a new LCD viewfinder for about $90 or send it back to them to fix for around $250. The same thing happened to my camera and I can actually is the split. If you close it down more than half way the picture shows up. I called Panasonic and they said you have to buy the whole LCD, that you can't just buy the ribbon. They don't even have a part number for just the ribbon. Good luck.

The E61 is an internal error code shown when the motor is not moving. I will look up the specific details when I get to the shop and update this with the required fix.

My camera's screen wont turn on all the way...what is wrong??

Hi

Can you see menus and play back old pictures? If so, press the "Disp" button and your LCD will turn on.

If you can't take pictures because they turn out solid black, then your LCD is fine and you need a new lens.

Hope this helps.

Broken

Dear schmex,
It sounds like you have a broken LCD screen this shouldn't effect the image quality, but it might get worse over time and it will probably make it more difficult to compose the picture.
