Hey Beni S i was wondering if u could help with a problem i've been having with my usb?

im not sure whether its the usb itself or if something screwed it up...
i read your advice on another device with the same problem...
i tried the registry info thing and it did nothing....
i wanna explore other options before i start uninstalling drivers or replaceing my hub...

SD card not recognized

What happens when you tried to plug-in SD card to the computer?

Have you made any recent changes to the computer prior to the issue?

To make the SDHC be recognized by the computer, we need to ensure that the card reader works in Windows 7 first. Please check if the card reader is recognized properly by the computer and you have installed the driver for it.

Meanwhile, you can plug some other storage cards to the card reader and see how it works.

I would suggest you to refer the link below
A Secure Digital (SD) card may not be recognized on a Windows 7 based computer.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981642

Uninstall all the Generic USB drivers and reinstall.

1. Open Device Manager.

2. In "Disk Drives" dropdown, uninstall the "Generic SD/MMC USB device" drive.

3. Restart computer.

4. Insert SDHC card.

Hope this helps.

Hey there, please help me out. I have downloaded the psp version 6.30 but when i put it on my psp through my laptop and disconnected the usb the version did not show in the psp.... im confused..

If you have wifi, i would download the update straight with the psp.
If you do it via pc, then i think you have to copy the file in games folder of the memory stick. Navigate to it and load it.

Hope it helped

My computer wont recognize this flash drive but other computers will. The driver installed properly. The other computer will.I have a resume Im trying to retriev on microsoft word. On this computer Im...

I don't know what your computer is...but you can try updating/rolling back the USB driver iteself (not the driver for the plug and play flash drive,, which installs automatically when you plug it in) A program which I really like for finding driver updates is Drivermax...you can download it, and on the free version you can download and install 2 drivers a day, or you can buy it for different time periods. I used to get the $10/30 day license to update all my drivers, but I like it so much I just paid to register it a couple years. ( I use it for my business) If you have done a recent update which updated the driver, you can try rolling it back to the previous version, or if not, you can try updating, or even just reinstalling the current driver. Since you didn't list any hardware, I can't direct you to one, But Drivermax will find it for you.

I was checking some of the files on my usb. When it became unresponsive I rebooted it. After doing so, my usb ports wouldn't recognize any usbs(camera, printer, etc.) I kept trying and I got them to work...

Hi. If your saying that you're USB is not being recognize by your computer then you should try that USB on a different machine and try if its working there, and if yes the problem is with your computer you just need to update the drivers on your computer to recognize your USB, and if not I think the USB has the hardware issue. Hope This Helps

Sigma card reader/writer doesn't recognize my new SD card

Hello,

What I suspect here is that, the USB port that you are using is a USB 1.0 port, which has a lower voltage not enough to power on your Storage drive.

In this case, there are two things you can do,

1. Change the USB port you are using for the storage drive to a USB 2.0 one (Just keep Checking all the ports one by one in case you dont know which one it is).

2. If your Storage drive has external power facility, just plug it in an external power first, before connecting it to the system.

If there are no USB 2.0 Ports on your system at all,

then just go to any electronic store and tell them you want to buy a USB 2.0 Expansion card.

and if it is a laptop, A USB 2.0 PCMCIA card.

Install it on your system, and connect your external drive through it.

Hope this helps you out.

Goodluck

When i plug in the jumpdrive on any computer it says USB device not recognized, please help

Well, it’s a super simple solution! No need to edit the registry, uninstall drivers, or anything of that sort.
Simply UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER FROM THE POWER SUPPLY
Yes that’s it! Note that this does not mean just turning off your computer because modern computers don’t really turn off when you press the power button as the motherboard still gets power.

First to explain, the motherboard is where all of hardware of the computer is connected to, including the USB ports. Sometimes the motherboard needs to be “rebooted” also because something can go wrong, i.e. all your USB ports suddenly stop working. The small microprocessor on the motherboard will reload the drivers and your USB ports should be back to recognizing all devices!
So first turn off your computer using Shut Down or pressing the power button and then UNPLUG it from the wall outlet. Let it sit for about a minute and then plug it back in.
Hope this helps someone fix that pesky “USB device not recognized” Windows error!

P.S. if it is a laptop, power up the laptop with just the batteries, not plugged in to fix this issue.

Give this a try and come back to tell us if it worked or not.

Everytime I buy a new one, I just plug it into the USB port and in a short time it recognizes NEW HARDWARE and loads the driver. I've used LEXAR 2GB,SANDISK 4GB, VERBATIM 2GB, and recently a ATIVA 4GB
