Question about Hotpoint Washing Machines

1 Answer

My washer WT740 (Hotpoint) is showing the door warning light. This has only happened since I selected a different wash from the probram. The door operates ok but I think it needs resetting. How do I reset the start and on buttons to default please?

Hi i have a hotpoint washin machine and it kepp showing H20 on the csreen can you please help th model number is WT740

H20 indicates a problem with water supply.
Check the inlet hose/s for restrriction or kinks, ensure water supply pressure is o/k, also check the filter screens in the inlet valves, you will have to turn the water off to do this.

I cannot open the door on my Hotpoint Aquarius wt740 after it finished a wash. Door handle is floppy and door light is off.

it sounds like you have a broken door handle Disconnect power before doing anthing remove lid , what you will need to do is usining a screw driver or somthing simular look down to where the catch is (you may need a tourch) and look carefully you should be able to to the door catch mechanisim from inside you will need to mimic the action of the door handel but using a screw driver it a bit fiddley but can be done there is no grate force needed and it the catch will only need to move a bout 3-8 mm to open

Error code H20...My washing machine, a hotpoint wt740 is showing the warning light H20...does anybody know what this means? thanks

Hi there,

Well error H20 does indicate no fill.
Make sure that that there is an adequate supply pressure to washer, check that there are no kinks or restrictions in hose. To be certain if you have an adequate supply turn off water valve to washer, disconnect hose and hold the hose into the sink or a bucket, turn the water back on, and see what the pressure is like..
If ti is too low, then the valve will not operate properly.
If you think it is ok then it is quite likely a valve fault, also check the filter built into the valve inlet.
Please post comments if further you have the same problem or you need more help or information........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

The start button on my hotpoint wt740 washing machine wont click on.

Hotpoint had a problem with a control panel design where if the start button is pushed too hard, it snaps off the panel. This is most likely cause but it might be a faulty door lock.

Hotpoint aquarius washer dryer wd63 1100 spin - my fuse went just as i was switching the machine on - so the door locked and wont open - changed the fuse, door was still locked so thought id let the wash...

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This is the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 3 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.

Works for other machines..............And please rate me if helped

Hot point wmlt80, dail clicking and turning, cycle wont start,

Yes, I work for GE what you need to do is to resent the appliance. Something should had happened with the computer of the washer. Just unplugged the machine for 40 seconds. You can unplugged or turn off the circuit breaker for 40 second and plugged back in. Select a normal cycle and let it run.
