All the laptops available in market have built in wireless 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 b/g/n Bluetooth® wireless networking. It means that you can access the internet via Wi-Fi or through Wi-Fi hotspots. In wireless connectivity you do not require the wired connection to access the internet. In home you can connect the laptop via wireless connection using the home networking router available in market. The advantage of wireless connection is that you can use the internet in your home anywhere with in 100 meters of range with proper wireless signals. You will require to get the internet connection from the ISP(Internet Service Provider).
Please visit the link provided below for Home Networking Wireless Router:
If you do not have a wireless router which is connected to your Internet servce provider and now your laptop does not connect to the Internet then, you could have connected to your neighbour's Internet connection. The reason why you cannot now get Internet access is, this neighbour has discovered unauthorized access to their unprotected wireless connection and has taken security steps to prevent further unauthorized access.
If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem then -
To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router and access the Internet via the DSL or cable modem.
Hi! Your Printer is connected to the (network) router via ethernet cable. Hence, it is a NETWORK PRINTER NOT A WIRELESS DEVICE, no matter your PC is connected to the network wirelessly. So, search for and install the printer as a NETWORK PRINTER. From the printer installation, it should searh and find the printer and susequently install the required drivers. Moreover, you may checkout the followings link for instructions on how to install/ add a network printer. LINK-1, LINK-2
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required. Hope it helps! Good Luck! CreativeTECH
As you have mentioned that you can connect to internet via cable but not wirelesslly without cable.
Well my brother the wireless issue can be fixed just even with in few minutes but sometime it takes lot to fix. here few things are missing that which window are you using and when was the last time it was working.
Try to follow these steps one by one i am sure it should work:-
1.Check your wireless switch and make sure it is ON.
2.check your wireless connection status and make sure its connected.
3.Perform a system restore>>how to open system restore
start>>all programs>>accessories>>system tools>>system restore>>left click on system restore>>click next>>it shows a calender and here you can choose the date when it was working>>so select date and hit next>>hit next next and will start the system restore automatically>>computer will restart automatically and then check your internet without cable
If still wireless does not work then try to call your Internet Service Provider.
I have a Brother MFC 7840W and have struggled with the wireless features. Not sure how you have this configured but if wireless suggest you find a way to connect via LAN or USB...I cannot make mine work via wireless but hardwired works fine. To fix, I had to 'reset' the MFC (functions on the MFC itself) and then reinstall the software selecting USB as the connection method. Sounds crazy but once I did it worked.
Because printers and networks vary, the best instructions for setting
up and networking your printer should be in its users manual. Also,
your network-ready printer may have come with installation software
that can help you share the printer over the network.
are three main steps you need to take when networking a printer,
including the following: Enable the File And Printer Sharing setting,
Make the printer available to all users, and Direct PCs to the printer.
For detailed instructions on sharing printers at home, please
refer to the "Get Your House In Order" article in the "See Also:"
For detailed instructions on sharing printers
in a small business, please refer to the "Select & Share The Right
Printer For Your Small Business"
As far as I can tell you can only connect to other people's computers via the network router in a wireless application. Even then your brothers computer must be on "share" setting to allow you to do so. Check your airport is working in the network settings function in preferences, if yes, go into you computer on the side bar there will be an icon called "network" click that once and you will see what your airport card is connected to and if your brothers cpu is on that network.
