My Sony DSC S40 Digital Camera is giving problem. I purchased the camera on Sept 2005. Lately i am getting format error. Whenever I click photos I am not able to get my half of the photos. When I try to...

When you disconnect from the computer, do you use the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right of your screen or do you just yank out the cord? When you yank, most of the time you will corrupt the card and even the camera. You can try to download your pics from the card using a separate card reader or take it to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture kiosk and print your pics or even make a cd of them. Then, Check your owner's manual to learn how to reset the camera. After that, format the card in the camera.

I used my camera to take over 100 photos,I downloaded a pic from the Camera to the COMPUTER. In later that day I tried to used the camera and it's said file error.

If I understand, you downloaded 1 pic from a total of 100 pics. Did you then delete that 1 pic using the computer to do so instead of the camera? Or, did you yank out the USB cord without using the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right of your computer screen? Either one of these can cause your problem.

HP E327 would not download pictures

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

It has suddenly become impossible to get my computer to "see" my Canon Ixus 950 IS, and so I cannot download pictures. I have tried re-install;ing the "EOS" software. Any ideas, please

There are many reasons for sync problem errors between cameras and computers, making it very difficult to troubleshoot here. Would first recommend that you try plugging the USB cord into a different USB port on your computer. If that doesn't work, would highly recommend that you consider using a card reader instead to download you pictures. Card readers are much more faster in downloading pics, do not require the use of your camera's batteries, and provide much more reliable downloading of the pictures (fewer errors). They're also VERY inexpensive these days. Here are some examples from Amazon:

Can't download pics from camera

The simple answer is to use and independant card reader and not the camera- It at least will save battery drain.
Coming back to the problem
Check the camera - is it set to upload?
Now check the Computer
Start /Control Pane/ system/Hardware/Device Manager
How do the USB's look?
Any yellow error marks?
Click on the USB symbol/ Driver/ Reload.

Come back with the news - good or bad
