Question about Canon PowerShot A510 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Power Over the last few weeks I have had issues with the batteries. I found that the "Eveready" brand certainly doesnt work (I am currently in India and it is hard to find anything here!) and I just went through 3 sets of Duracells but after a short period of time it tells me to change the batteries. I just changed them with new Duracells but when I turn the camera on it wont let me get past that initial little birdy which is the start up screen. I also just noticed that my zoom lens thinger is now in half way position - neither fully open like when I take picture, nor closed when I am viewing pics. Any ideas as to what's going on?

Thanks "welcomejee", I will give a shot. I guess I was trying to get around that solution only because I am on a limited budget and they aren't cheap around here ;-) But, I will try! (cheaper than buying a new camera huh?)

Lanson smoke alarm

Smoke alarms are finicky about battery brands. Look inside the alarm or on the back to see if specific battery brands/numbers are recommended.

See page 13 of the official instruction manual at:
http://psaproducts.com.au/Assets/documents/PDF/Fire%20DataSheet/5800%20and%205800RL%20manual.pdf

The following 9-volts are recommended:
EVEREADY/ENERGIZER 522
DURACELL MN1604, MX1604

If alarm is over 5 years old (or past the date printed on the alarm), toss it and get a new one. They don't last forever. Be safe!

Hi, I have few quick questions regarding the Intermatic HB114C 240 Volt, I would appreciate if you can answer my questions 1. Does this unit have Internal Built in Clock to set up the Clock or does...

HB114C timer likely will not work in India.
Contact Intermatic: http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service.aspx
Plug type is different than found in India.
India power generation is 50 Hz, so timer might not keep time even with plug adapter.
US power grid is 60Hz, so US-sold products are 60Hz.
Some timers are both 50Hz and 60Hz, but spec sheet usually shows that information.
HB114C spec sheet does not show Hz.
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/fact%20sheets/timers/hb114c.ashx
http://users.telenet.be/worldstandards/electricity.htm

HB114C is analog appliance timer with clock motor that rotates dial once every 24 hours.
The timer does not have a countdown feature.
Trippers are placed on dial.
As dial rotates, trippers move small switch that opens and closes circuit to load.
Current time is set by manually rotating clock dial until current time lines up with arrow located on inner dial.
After power failure, current time must be reset.
There is no way to install a battery back-up inside the timer.

Website's security certificate problems

There is nothing to worry about. This issue is just because of the date settings on your PC are invalid. Adjust the date (to current date/month/year) and you would be able to log-on normally. This may have been caused due to incorrect settings or the worn out CMOS/RTC Coin cell Battery.
A coin-cell battery (CR2032) usually powers the real-time clock and CMOS memory. The battery is 3 Volts, 3/4" in diameter and has an estimated life of three years. When the computer is plugged in, the standby current from the power supply extends the life of the battery.
Just open the desktop, locate the CMOS (Coincell) and remove using screw driver. Replace the battery with CR2032 or an equivalent one.The following brands are used interchangeably for this item: Energizer (ECR2032), Duracell, Panasonic, Eveready, and 3M etc, which can be purchased from any local electronics store.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Any brand of CMOS battery will work on any motherboards as long as it has the same size. Make sure to bring your CMOS battery when buying a new to make sure the size is the same.

You may want to visit Samsung's website to check the warranty coverage of the tablet. Usually, since they are slightly used, it should still be covered by warranty.

IFP-395T (AA Batteries)

Probably a hardware issue, but the issue could also be with your USB port - make sure that there are no yellow exclamations next to the usb port in the PC device manager.

The battery indicator might not be stable during the following activities because they use large amounts of power:

1. The backlight of the LCD
2. Volume change
3. Pressing function keys and buttons
4. Reading the CD or files (Loading data to the memory)

The battery indicator shows the life expectancy of the battery based on current power usage. During these high power usage activities, that may only last a few seconds, the indicator will obviously show a lower level on the battery indicator. Once the high power activity has ended it will show a more accurate battery level.
