I have a Toshiba Satellite 1415-S105, and it has three USB ports in the rear. I am pretty computer savvy, but this one has stumped me. No matter what port I plug any of my like seven USB flash drives into, it recognizes them as USB flash drives, but will not allow them to show up in My Computer because there are no drivers loaded for them, nor can my computer, windows update, or the internet find them for me. I already ran the latest updates and everything, so I'm good to go on that, and I thought maybe installing Service Pack 3 for XP home would fix it, but alas, no results. Can you be of any assistance?

    Which driver? the link you gave me just took me to a list of drivers, and I am so hardware savvy, but not remotely software savvy. I hate to bother, but could you respond with a specific link to the exact driver you are talking about?

Is the toshiba sattellite 1415-s105 set up for wireless internet?
The laptop came standard without a wireless capability. There was an optional upgrade to include a 802.11 a/b wireless capability. But that is so slow that if you want wireless now you are best to buy a USB wireless dongle (they make them as small as the ones for mice now. It would be faster and cheaper than the upgrade.

I am trying to figure out how to boot from a usb drive on my toshiba satellite 1415-s105
1. Press F12 key while the Toshiba splash screen is on, this will bring up the boot options menu.

2. Immediately after pressing the power-on button, press the U key.

The RAM you re-installed is not installed properly, it need to install again properly, if the RAM is OK then it has to show display, if not the RAM gone bad and needs replacement.

it has wireless b,(11mbit) already, dont use ur usb 1.1 u could buy a pc card (u laptop has 2 expansion bays, the rectangles like 2 inches long) to upgrade to wireless n (300 mbit) just go to the store and ask for a wireless n pc card (u'll find where it goes, but 1st read installation instructions!!)

Wireless set up
click on the wirless computer icon in the lower right hand corner and see what wireless networks are available. if you have one at home or office etc... make sure you know the wep security and enter it once you have clicked on the network you want and then clicked connect.
