Turn off the computer and remove the power plug.
Open up the computer case by removing the phillips screws holding on the side panel. You should see the back of the dvd drive with two connectors in it. Remove the phillips screws holding the drive. Remove the connectors from the back. Pull the drive out of its cage/mount. Voila, a removed dvd drive.
