Black flickering screen on my tobisha laptop

flickering screen could be the inverter being faulty these inverters are cheap to buy just make sure you get the correct one.

Could also be an issue with your sleep button these are very small and gets activated with you close the lid.
LCD back light is broken.

inverters do brake as it supply the power to the lcd.

I have a Samsung R700 laptop . The problem is when the laptop is plugged into power lead it works fine but when it is running off the battery the screen flickers then goes black but comes back on after you...

Your LCD screen's picture comes from a very thin ribbon cable which has either a) worked itself loose or b) worn out, either way you will need to undo the four screws at the front of the screen (usually covered with 4 rubber covers). Very carefully unclip the plastic surrounds and then check for the connecting cable. If it needs to be replaced you can ussually locate one from Ebay.

You could have a defective screen - a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen or video card problem, read this and follow the instructions.

Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom:

  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Laptop screen flickers then goes very dark

Did you check the sleep mode or power off mode? What do you do to make it come back on? Sounds like it might be getting too hot and/or going bad.

Good morning, Kevin!
Sounds like an LCD problem. You can verify this by hooking up an external monitor. The external monitor will probably show a good display.
After verification of the problem, you may want to try to replug the LCD cable at both ends, just to see if that corrects the situation.
If that resolves things, all is well and good. If not, you may need a replacement LCD.
If the external monitor shows the same display, you may have a motherboard problem.
Hope this information is of some help.

Flickering lap top screen sometimes screen doesn't light up at all

There is a switch on the top of the laptop that "detects" whether or not the laptop is open. This effectively shuts off the screen when the laptop is closed. Look for a "bump" on the screen face that corresponds to a depression in the laptop. This should be the "switch" mechanism. If the actual switch in the laptop body is stuck, you could see the symptom you describe.
