You can hold the off switch to off for around 30 seconds and it should automaticly turn off.

Unscrew the back and gently pull out the battery then plug it back in. That should work.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Virus attacked my player

I would just wipe your songs off and see if that solves your problem. if not, i wouldnt want to format.
if its not too big of a problem, use it wil the virus.
Insignia has not released an updated firmware or even a link to download firmware for the 4gig and 8gig models.
once they do you can format and re-install the firmware but as for now your pretty much SOL.
Here is the link to insignias website for the 8gig Model: http://www.insignia-products.com/pc-289-22-insignia-pilot-8gb-video-mp3-player-with-bluetooth-technology.aspx

Hope this helps,
:)

How to add a new screen to my mp3 player

I don't believe they'll sell replacement screens, you'll probably just have to shell out for a new pilot. Your best bet is probably doing what I did: eBay. Got a gently used 8GB Pilot for $30 that had a 4GB SDHC card in it that the company selling the used player didn't even know was in it. I love free stuff. ;-)

Go to Insignia's website to get the software - usually in the support section: Here is the link for the 8GB version of the Pilot:

Bluetooth/ Insignia mp3

Hi MzM1990,

You can find lots of useful product information about your Insignia MP3 player on the manufacturer's website located at: http://www.insignia-products.com.

(The actual product page for your MP3 player is located at http://www.insignia-products.com/pc-289-22-insignia-pilot-8gb-video-mp3-player-with-bluetooth-technology.aspx)

I'd recommend downloading the User's Manual. The instructions on how to connect the MP3 player to Bluetooth compatible headphones are located on pages 27-29 of the manual.

NOTE that the wireless headphones MUST be A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) compatible to use this feature. If your headphones are also AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) compatible then you will also be able to adjust some settings of the MP3 player (such as play/pause, skip forward/backward and control the volume) wirelessly. Check the documentation on your headphones to ensure compatability.

Best regards.
Ken

FLAC format support?

Hey chuckp73,

Unfortunately this model does not currently appear to have support for the FLAC lossless format, and does not have any updates available through the manufacturer's website at this time.

According to information provided by Insignia, the only file formats that the 8GB Pilot currently supports are MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, WMA DRM, WMA Pro, OGG, WAV, Audible, MPEG4 (30fps), WMV (30fps) and JPEG.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
