You do not want to set anything on the element. Setting anything on the element, and turning it on will burn up the element, as well as it will probably melt the aluminum tray if it is on the element.

We have a new range and now have foil stuck to the bottom of the oven, any ideas on how to remove.

Caustic soda rapidly turns aluminium to a foamy grey goo. It also happens to be the basic chemical upon which many proprietary oven cleaners are based upon, and is the bane of many users who fail to read the instructions and then leave aluminium alloy castings from the hob burners to soak in the stuff...

As with ALL caustic soda based cleaners, it's essential to wear long sleeved rubber or vinyl gloves and eye protection as it's also highly corrosive to skin and eyes. I can't emphasise this point strongly enough: caustic soda burns are really nasty, painful, very slow to heal and leave bad scars. It's excellent stuff for doing the job you need but treat it with respect.

Frigidaire double oven - stove top oven had a spill. The spill went through the bottom oven's door vents and is now in between the glass and I cannot get to it to clean. How can I get this glass clean?

I had a similar problem with a spill running into the vent and between the glass. I had to take the door apart clean it and then put it back together. It sounds hard, but it was just a few screws and a little time.
