Question about Nikon D40x Digital Camera

1 Answer

Computer not recognizing camera

Both my Mac book and PC computer recognized the camera at first (in fact it was extremely easy to download photos) but later did not. I have tried several USB cords and different memory cards without any luck. Any thoughts?

I've cleared my memory card, but still cannot get camera to take pics without err coming up, then once it does its either extremely slow or will only take one at a time without auto focus :( I just feel like giving up!! :(

On a Mac use iPhoto. It will recognize the camera and you can move the photos to a new album. A PC should recognize the camera as a new drive. Check the "My Computer" file for it.

If you shoot videos in AVCHD Lite, the Mac will not be able to do anything with them. If you have Toast Titanium 10 on your Mac, it will process them. If you are shooting videos in "motion jpeg", the Mac can handle those. Just download them to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, send them to iMovie.

Downloading photos

If you are using Windows XP unplug your camera from your PC and uninstall the Kodak software. You don't need it to transfer photos to your PC. The next time you connect your camera (turn the camera on) to your computer it should recognize it and you can use Windows built in transfer software.
