The best way to fix the hole is to weld them closed, and then do the body and paint work.
Since it is over the engine, there is a lot of heat. If you just use body filler, it would pop out in a fairly short period of time.
The same thing could happen fron opening and closing the hood.

The other options are, replace the hood with a new or used one.
Or find a different hood scoop that would hide the marks from the one you have on there.

Have purchased a used hood to add to escort we bought w/o a hood.

I believe all escorts have metric threads, so your 5/16"-18 would strip the holes or bolts or nuts. Could you find another escort and "borrow" a bolt out of it long enough to identify it so you could buy some? If "push came to shove", you drill the holes a little bigger, and then just use nuts and bolts there instead of threading the holes.
God bless your efforts.

I was removing my drivers side fender and 3 of the bolts came out the it came of clean and it is flushed in the surface ut the studis still in the hole what can i do to fix it

An EZ-OUT assortment is available at hardware or auto parts stores (as in Pep Boys).

A hole is drilled in the center of the broken bolt -- size of drill bit depends on size of bolt -- drill bit size is marked on EZ OUT.

After drilling hole, the EZ OUT is screwed in counter-clockwise, it tightens inside the drilled hole and the broken bolt comes out as the EZ OUT is turned. It's best to use a wrench on the square end of the EZ OUT to turn it.

What is the best way to run wires from my battery to inside the cabin to wire in a power converter?

The best or more professional way to run the cables is to drill a hole thru the firewall. You need to use wire ties on the cables and route the cables along the factory wiring harness. Try to route to the shortest distance and use a rubber grommet where you have the hole drilled in the firewall. The grommet will keep the cable from getting damaged by the sharp edges of the hole that you drilled. Also the largest possible diameter cable is better because you will get more amperage to the power inverter. Hope this helps :)

How do you fix a freeze plug on a 1987 BMW 325

To remove purchuse a slide hammer can be rented from many auto stores. Drill small hole in center of plus and using the screw end on the slide hammer screw in drilled hole. The hole drilled should ne smaller than the srew end on the slide hammer. Slide hammer until plug comes out. To install: place new plug over block opening and using a socket that fits inside of the center of plug simply hammer until freeze plug is flush with block. I would suggest using fine sand paper and clean up outer edges of block hole surfaces before installing.

Find the point on the radiator support where the pins will be located.Be sure there isn't anything underneath to drill through.Measure from the fender to the center point of the hole location, and measure from the front fascia(edge where the front edge of the hood meets the body)to the center point of the hole location.Use these measurements to mark the hole on the hood.Repeat for the other side.MEASURE TWICE DRILL ONCE.

Headlights fogged

I have a Montana and the headlight on these vans are always fogging up inside and collect water from condensation. Most of us Montana owner's drill two 3/8 hole on the side of the headlight to allow air to circulate. That fixed the problem and no more fog or water. When you drill the hole find a spot like close to the bottom corner and look to see if the spot is clean, which would indicate that dirt and water from the rain don't collect there.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Quetion about aftemarket side skirts....

honestly your best bet would to be installing the side skirts with pop-rivets. Get a manual pop riveter. You can purcjase this at any local hardware store, also you will need to purchase some pop rivets. Ask a sales associate what sise you will need, by telling them what you are riveting they should be able to help you find the right size and length.Start by marking exactly where your side skirts will be on the car. Make sure to align the skirts perfectly in mock up so you wont run into any issues with the door rubbing against the newly installed part. mark your holes for where you want to put the rivets placing one every 9 inches to a foot apart. You may also use fewer or more rivets it all depends on how secure you feel with your work. Next after all your holes have been marked drill holes in the spots that you have marked, this will allow you to lign your side skirt back up and mark the frame. Once the frame is marked you will need to drill the marked holes out. Be sure that the drill bit you use does not exceed the size of the stud on your rivet. This will cause the shield to seat wrong and make it that much easier to putt out of the frame. Finally after all your holes are drilled install your rivets and break off the studs. You should be good to go. Word of advice if your car is allready paintes and your side skirts arent, but you are planning to paint them after installation, DONT! drinn your holes in the kis sand any rough edges down and paint it will save you time and hassle in the long run trust me! hopes this helped
