Is it backlit or something?  You want the NumLock or CapsLock to work, and they don't respond though the keyboard works otherwise?

Well, if it was from the same lot, I guess it should light up!
Supposedly they tell you what part you should order if you e-mail , but you have to give a full model number, not just CF-28 or such.

You might double-check that you have the same Toshiba power management utilities running on your box as your neighbors, in case Windows decided not to get along with them last week.

Hey, look at that!  That oughtta help get to any failed component (which, if it's an LED, you can check with a couple of button cells if not a 3.7V supply.)
Or just, maybe not the "putting a LED into the case" one, that one has you drilling a -new- hole in the case someplace else so a LED can shine out of there onto the keys below.

    Adjust brightness on laptop

On the Panasonic Toughbook CF30 you can change
the Brightness UP by pressing FN + F2 keys
simultaneously to increase brightness and to decrease it
hold FN and press F1 to lower brightness.
This assumes that you have the HOTKEY driver loaded
first, which enables these function keys.

How do i enable touchscreen on panasonic toughbook cf 30ctqazbm

The first thing I would try on any Panasonic Toughbook with touchscreen would be to enter the BIOS upon start-up by pressing the "F2" function key. When you are in the BIOS, there is a setting on the 2nd screen tab "Main" which says "Touchscreen:". This should be set to "Enable" instead of Disable. Then you press the "F10" function key and the message: "Save configuration changes and exit now?". Press "Yes" and the toughbook will reboot and your Touchscreen will be enabled at the BIOS level.

    Good Luck!

I have a CF-30 toughbook and my screen lights up for about 4 seconds and then goes dark everytime I open the the lid. I can see the screen is still on but not lit up, it will relight if I close the screen...

    It could be loose wiring.

    1. Take the screen bezel and LCD board off and reseat all the connections. In other words, unplug and plug it in again.

The function (purple) key symbols type when I am trying to type non-function (white) symbols. When I press the function (purple) key, the white symbol types.

There's a "Fn" key on the bottom left hand of the key board.

This key switches between the purple/white key funtions.

This gives the opportunity to have loads of functions with just a few keys.

It sounds like your browser's doing a bad job of rendering to print. Try cutting and pasting to a word processor and printing from there.

Keyboard is stuck in numeric mode. Can't type

On the Panasonic Toughbook CF-51 there is a key located on the top right next to the F12 function key called "NumLk" or Num Lock.
Press this key once and the embedded numeric keypad is enabled.
Press it a second time and it is disabled.
How do you know if it is enabled or disabled?
Simple: Observe the LED above the keyboard. If the second light with the square symbol and the number "1" is lit up, then the NumLock is enabled. If that LED is not lit up it is disabled.

    Good Luck.
