Question about Kenwood KAC-9102D Car Audio Amplifier
I have an amp. Kenwood KAC-9120D I got it from somebody and I don't know if it is broken or not I hooked it up and does not turn on. If it is broken how much would be the fixing cost? Thanks.
First off I would double and triple check the connections to make sure everything is making good contact. The first place I would look is the ground. Make sure it has a clean paintless contact to metal. Then use a multimeter and check the voltages on the amp. If you dont have a multimeter borrow one or buy a cheapy one that has digital read out. You can get one for like $5 its a good tool to have.....when your head unit is on go to the amp and put the black lead on the ground and the red on the battery input. It should say about 12 volts and then put the red lead on the remote lead and it also should say 12 volts. If there are voltages there then there is something wrong with your amp and unless you paid more than $800 then it probably isn't worth fixing but if you are interested I could try to find you a place that I could get a quote. If there isn't voltages there then fix your wiring. I hope I could help. Good luck
