Yahoo has some known problems on password verifications. Many users that
put the correct password, were not able to login and when they tried to
reset it, yahoo did not accept it.
I am not sure if your case is the same, but if it is, hang on until yahoo fixes the issue.
If
you are not in this case and just forgot your password, you can reset your password by going to mail.yahoo.com and
clicking "I cannot access my account", then "forgot my password", then
you give your yahoo ID and write the digits from the captcha.
You need to go http://mail.yahoo.com
Log in with your Yahoo User ID.
Enter your Yahoo Password.
Click on submit. In case you don't remember your password or user id click on forgot username or password.
1 Please try the password in both Upper & Lower case carefully.
2 Even after that if the problem is there, then the password had been chanced by you. If you looged on and went somebody can change it.
3 Try forgot password option and get help from yahoo.
4 Failing that you will have to have a new user ID.

you need to login to login page of yahoo
mail and click on I can't access my account
under user ID and password box, then select
forgot the password and
click on next, then enter your yahoo ID
and enter the code which would blink there
and click on next and then it would ask you
any alternate email ID and you can reset the password for yahoo mail ID.

Dude please clarify us that...are you able to loging in? if not are you giving the correct user id and password?which version of yahoo mail you are using? all-new-mail or classic.....? if you are facing the problem in all-new-mail version .first download the latest flash player or new yahoo toolbar...if the problem exist still..try to open in Classic version... Hi Do you remember secondary mail address and password for it ? If yes then go to mail.yahoo.com and click forgot user id /password . Then enter the details the password will be send to secondary id..........
For E-mail Server Names, select POP3 as your option from the drop down. Type "localhost" for both Incoming (POP3) and Outgoing mail (SMTP) servers.
Click Next.
For Internet Mail Logon window, type your Yahoo! Mail ID and password:

[email protected], you need to type Username1 as your user ID)
Password is your Yahoo! Mail password. (Ensure you are entering the correct password)
If you do not wish to type in your password every time you check your mail, tick the Remember password box.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
Now in the Internet Accounts window, click on the new account named localhost and click Properties.
Localhost properties windows will pop up.
Select Servers tab and in the bottom tick the checkbox My server requires authentication.
Click Settings.
In the Outgoing Mail Server window, check the Log on using button and enter your Yahoo! Mail address as the Account name and your Yahoo! Mail password as the password.
Click OK.
Next select the Advanced tab and increase the Server Timeout to Long (5 minutes).
Click OK and close.
Now your configuration settings are ended and you should be able to access your free Yahoo! Mail account in Outlook Express.
