Thats the 1mbps is the adsl down load speed or the transfer speed ur service provider provides u. that from exchange to router. 54 mbps is the transfer of data rate  bw ur router and computer

Your wireless network card is more than sufficient to handle the bandwidth provided by your DSL connection. A "1.5" DSL connection refers to a 1.5Mbps DSL line. Your network card is an 802.11G network card. Simply put, your network card will only run at a maximum of 54Mbps, far short of your 802.11N router's maximum speed, but provides more than enough room for the bandwidth provided by your Internet Service Provider. Gigabit connections (connections with speeds measured in 'Gbps') are almost exclusively for private networks or corporate networks with Fiber Optic connections.

In layman's terms, you can get a newer network card for your computer that will improve the speeds between your laptop and any other computers on your network, but as long as your network card is supported by any modern operating system, odds are it is able to transfer data fast enough to keep up with your DSL connection

Im sorry but you will never get 54 on your card toughs are theoretical maximum speeds and I have never seen a system actually achieve them the actual speeds received by wireless devices are actually much lower and 11 is a normal speed wile running over wireless. Im sure this isnt what you wanted to here and I am sorry but it pretty much comes down to manufactures lieing by telling you it goes to speeds that can never be reached.

Belkin wireless n route only puts out 54mbps


The reasons you only get 54mbps could be: one, your networked PCs don't support N-mode and broadcast in G-mode, so that the router falls back to 54mbps.

Two, the signal strength is too low or the radio noise level is too high to allow N-mode operation at full speed.

So, after checking with the manuals and vendor brochures, you should try connecting the router with a single PC close by - say, ten feet in the same room - and check connection speed. If you can connect at 108 or 125 depending on which N mode you have (N, N+, N1...), the problem is likely to be distance, walls or noisy equipment.

If you still can't connect, double-check the configuration of both router and PC (wifi board "Advanced Properties" in Hardware Management) to check whether N mode is enabled at BOTH ends, especially "Wireless Mode" in the PC.

If it still doesn't work, I'd test it with a Belkin N USB key, for example, just to check that when router and client vendors say, "802.11N", they do indeed refer to the same thing. That's not so cut and dried a thing as one would expect. The N-mode standard was not completely defined from the start, so that many vendors jumped the gun and implemented their own "N-modes" which are often NOT compatible with each other. If you had a US Robotics router and a Yuwasa (and outdated SparkLANs, IIRC) wifi board, you'd discover that you could only attain 11 mbps - and if the USR router was set for "G only" or "G and N" instead of "B, G and N", you would get no connection at all.

Ethernet works wirelss is very slow


Most of the wireless adapters connect at a speed of 54mbps max, while wired lan connection adaptors (LAN adapter/cable) works at max of 100/1000mbps. hence use a cable to connect the PC to make it faster than using wireless.

System do not reconize the PCI card


Does it ask for a driver to be installed? Or have you got the wireless version of the mobo that needs an ASUS WiFi-b add-on card with an omni-directional antenna?

It appears you are using a 802.11b WI-FI card (either at the PC or the Access Point side). If the card is a 802.11g instead, check out the settings to verify 802.11g is enabled. Regards.

I cannot connect my laptop computor to my main computor


Bluetooth is not WiFi,   they are two seperate technologies.

 

you need a Wireless adapter 802.11b/g for your laptop,

you would connect the two to each other using an adhoc connection,

If you had a wireless router for your internet you could connect directly to the router, (and then you would not have to have your main computer on for you to access the internet.

BTW if your Main machine is near your phone point (for internet connection) you would not need a wireless card for your pc, as you could connect via LAN cable to the wireless router (make sure you get one with lan ports)
