Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook

1 Answer

92 honda You ll have to forgive me, i dont know a lot about this kind of stuff. I dont have a factory manual. All i have is information that i was able to get from my friend. It's ALLDATA 9.70. The diagram it shows, it doesnt show an orifice tube, just an exspansion valve that i did replace. I was told that it surved the purpose of the orivice tube. I did replace the stuff from auto part store components. The reciever dryer doesnt have a sight glass on it niether did the old one. The system worked excellent until the 4th of july. I wasnt sure if it was r12 system or 134a because it had 134a fittings on the lines, but no conversion sticker anywhere. So we went ahead and made sure it was converted by doing it. One thing i do notice is that on the dash it has a display of the car for the doors ajar and trunk being open. It will flash a occasion (all the lights). We converted the r12 to 134a gas with math also. ALLDATA 9.70 called for 28-30oz. We took 29oz(1.82lbs.) we times that by .9 which eqauled 1.63lbs. I put 2 12oz. (1.5lbs) cans in the system plus just a little out of another can. I ve noticed that during the heat of the day, that the system cycles better than at night. When it's cool it turns off and on more. I wanted to make sure it wasn't the compressor before i spent the money and got a new one. It seems the system is working properly to me. The pressure gages tell the tail. At idle the low end is around 35psi and the high is 175psi. You pick the vehicle up off idle though, as soon as you do the low end drops to 20psi or below (based on how much you pick the rpms up to) and the high end steadly goes up around 225psi. Any information is a help to me. I'm learning as i go. You have 30 years experience, i have 0. Your help/advice is greatly apprieciated, believe me.

35 PSI is not low enough on the low side, it should be 30 PSI, is the pressure cycling switch adjustable?? if so try turning the screw under the connector out half a turn to start and then recheck, and so on, or just replace it, if you can't the PSI down to 30 then the compressor is starting to wear out., the only other explanation is the air bleend door is warped are otherwise not closed all the way, this allows heat from the heater core to mix with the cold air from the AC evaporator core, take a pair of vise grips and crip off the hot coolant supply line to the heater core under the hood, if the AC gets really cold then that is the problem not the compressor, !992 is to early for your Honda to have a R134 system, so it was converted, An expansion valve is the same as a fixed orfice. As far as the door ajar and trunk warnig light that are on this is another isssue, and by no means related to the AC concern.

You need a repair manual, no manual? Try MFG website or email their customer service, or try
or buy from your favorite auto parts store. The codes should be included in the repair manual and give an indication of what needs repair.

Usually it'll just blow a fuse, did you check all the main fuses also? in the engine bay. Check those first. Also the cables are probably shot, your going to have to use a different set.

Dont know which fuse is for what because there is no diagram

There is a fuse box diagram (or should be anyway) in your car manual (the one that is usually found in the glove box). If it's not there, I suggest doing a google image search. Good luck!

The tachometer on my 92 Honda Prelude Si works but the factory speedometer isn't whatsoever.

Its probably your speed sensor mounted on the back side of your transmission on top of the final drive gear. Its the sensor/plug located just under the shift linkage. Make sure its bolted down tight and check for any loose connections.
