I have owned a totom for 1 1/2 years and thoroughly enjoy it. This morning I attempted to enter a city when an introductory screen quickly popped up. I quickly went back to the original screen . Whenever I tap on the screen, it immediately goes to what looks like a tutorial for tomtom. Several weeks ago my wife installed information contained on the disc that came with my unit, although I did not notice this issue until today. If I try to uninstall, will just the info on the cd be removed or will all of tomtom be removed. Thank you. I hope you can understand my problem. Thank you.

Try to find your own home address (which you'll want to label as "Home").
From the main screen, select Where to>Address. Change the State, if necessary. This will make your state the default for future searches. Touch "Spell City" and enter your city name or zip code. Enter your house number, and touch Done. Enter the street name, and touch Done. Select the correct street on the list, if necessary. Select it. You'll have the opportunity to Save your address as "Home".
Someone may have set up a "speed limit warning" that will beep when the car is going above a certain speed.
To remove this feature, please follow these steps:
1) Go to your TomTom GPS and tap on the middle of the screen to bring the MENU 2) Tap on "PREFERENCES" 3) Tap on the "SAFETY PREFERENCES" 4) All boxes on the screen shpuld be UNCHECKED. If you have a CHECKMARK, tap on it to unmark it. 5) Tap on "DONE" 6) Keep tapping on "DONE" until you;re back at the GPS driving screen. YOU'RE DONE. YOU HAVE JUST DISABLED THE "Speed Limit Warning Sound"

I think Magellan makes it so if you don't update your map every year it will freeze up. Mine does the same thing and they told me to buy an update for $99 last year so I did and it worked and then after it started telling me my map was over a year old this year it started freezing up again. I don't want to pay $99 every year to keep this thing working. I wonder if Garman or Tomtom does the same thing.
