My HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One keeps giving me the error message - Scanner failure - Turn power off then on. Turning power off then on, even disconnecting power cord, repeatedly does not solve problem.

I put a document in the ADF, and press copy. The doc is picked up and sucked into the ADF halfway, which tells me the pick rollers are working ok. Any help would be appreciated!

Our HP Officejet L7780 displays the "Align Printer" message and then does it automatically wasting several sheets of paper aligning, then the next time we print a page the same message comes back. Is there a way to turn off the "align Printer" message. It is printing ok otherwise.

I have cleaned printheads as per your instructions but when i turn on the printer now, the window reads"aligning printer". After three minutes it has printed a sheet of Z's etc using a lot of ink. If I try to OK this it advisesthat theprinter is busy. Please help me. Des Soley. What is the warranty of this machine. I spoke to you 31 days after I purchased same and advised that I could have brought the printerfromOffice works for $98 where I paid $398 at Harvey Normans .You arranged a $100 cash back for me from HN but I had to take my paper work in and leave it with them. Have you a copy of the date I rang. in my file.

Displays " Scanner Failure"

I've seen a similar issue on other HP All-In-Ones. I had to contact support, but all they do is make sure you try connecting the printer to the wall outlet instead of a surge supressor, then a different wall outlet, then reset to factory defaults. After that didn't work, they submitted an replacement order.

Hope this helps

I keep getting a scanner failure error

Let's try this. Turn power off, unplug the cord from the surge strip or wall socket. Leave unplugged for about 30 minutes, then plug back in and turn on. Hopefully this will fix your problem. Good luck.

Scanner Error Power Turn off than on

Hi,

If you are get that error message than unplug the power cord, and than press Poun and Number 6 Keys together on the keypab of the printer. While these keys are pressed and hold, than at the same time plugged in the power cord and dont release the two buttons.
After say 30 second you will get a new message on the screen of the printer.
All of the above steps actually reset the printer. I hope this will work.

Lalit

Scanner motor doesn't typically go out in these machines. If you are getting a scanner failure message, its either the scanner assembly or the main board.
