Philips 42PF7320A/37 problem...light on front flashes 7 times.
I am removing the back cover now to see what the error message is. The same thing has happened to me...which looks like has happened to several others...It started being difficult to turn on..then I'd have to unplug and repulug it in to get it to come one...now nothing happens except for a click in the back and the flashing light in the front...Once I see the message on the back panel...what to do next?

Re: Philips 42PF7320A/37 problem...light on front flashes...
There was a problem with the software for these sets, you can go to philips website and download it and install via usb..
But if the tv isnt powering on at all and you have a flashing error light on the front. Then either the powersupply, y sus or z sus board is bad or possibly even the control board. If you havent resolved this issue, respond back and I can tell you how to test them.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

Don't have a "solution" yet, but found this table that decodes the blinks:
Error Code Table
0 = No error
1 = X-ray protection, E/W protection, and/or Vertical protection active
2 = High beam current protection active
3 = Reserved
4 = +5V protection active
5 = Signal Processor (IC 7150) register corrupted
6 = Signal Processor (IC 7150) error
7 = Total failure
8 = Internal RAM error (Microprocessor IC 7000)
10 = NV memory (IC7088) addressing error
11 = NV memory (IC7088) size error
12 = Histogram (YUV) (IC 7770) error
14 = Sound processor I²C error (TDA9855)
16 = Main Tuner I²C error (IC 1125)
17 = PIP Processor I²C error (IC 7350)
18 = PIP Tuner I²C error (IC 1127)
I, too, have the 6 blinks of a red light. I found another person online that suggested that perhaps the power cord was "defective" as it's a common issue. I replaced the power cord with one from an old computer (they're the same cord) and it seems to be OK now. That's all I can offer you at this time.
I had the Same issue. on a 50PF9431D/37 set. Many Plasma Set's use a LJ44-00118A PS-505-PH Power supply from Samsung. Known to have this common problem. If you can, or have a friend that can Solder components?. Unplug your set remove the back panel & locate your power supply. It will be the PCB in the center of the set just above the Video/Audio connections. http://www.shopjimmy.com/power-supply-unit-lj44-00118a-from-philips-50mf231d-40.htm. Is a Link to a photo of the PCB. Make a note of the locations of all cable connections then unplug them all. Un-install PCB, Check all Fuse first. I believe their is 5 or 6 of them on the PCB. Then replace the two 3300uf 10v 105C Radial capacitors at C8060 & C8059. Look to see if the Caps are deformed and or split at the top. The location of the caps are in the Lower bottom edge of the PCB. A local shop may Carrie them if not, digi-key has them. Part # http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=493-1754-ND. Total cost was $7 with S/H.
7 blink error is 8.6 volt error usually tied to y main board. would advise to disconnect y main from power supply and verify vs voltage. if vs is present replace y main and general protocol is to replace y upper and lower buffers as well as they complete circuit
Error 7 is a power related problem. This is what u need to do.
Remove back cover.
Plug in power when tv goes into error protection, check power supply and see how many times the led flashes. Right below the flashing green led there is a list 1-13 of error codes and what they mean. Your problem will probably be an error 7or 8 VSET or VSCAN . Which ever error code it gives you VA VSET or VSCAN or whatever it indicates look at the cable connectors to the power supply unplug that connector and the TV will stay on. And there will be your problem.
The SSB is small self contained board that u connect your Antenna, and HDMI to. An error three is a communication error between the SSB and to Logic board ( located underneath the SSB on the back fo the plasma panel that is just below the power supply. U can check parts.com and see if u want to purchase a SSB for this TV. Is the 3blinking lights coming from the front of the TV. Also check the power supply and see how many times the green led blinks on the upper left of the power supply and let me know.
