LG FRONT LOAD WASHER ERROR CODE IE

HI -- I haven't had too many problems thank goodness. I know I don't like the whole front load thing.

Anyway, my problem is an error "ie". Not sure what it is, but it just stops -- the washing machine goes off and the clothes are soaked. Any clue what "ie" means.

Oh -- and thanks for th oe suggestion -- I didn't even know there was a filter down there. Solved the problem instantly!

LG has general error codes for all there appliances and the "ie" error code is for the water supply. You either have a kink in your hose, water vavle shut off, or the bad problem your pump is bad.

I get a tE error code and the machine shuts down. What is it telling me? How do I troubleshoot and fix it?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
???
LG's 'te' stands for 'thermostat (heating) error'.

One way of hopefully getting around the problem is first to ensure the washer is empty then pour the contents of a boiling kettle into it. That can sometimes kick the device into correct action. It's worth a try anyway before having to call in the repair man ;-0)

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Can't get rid off L2 message on the recorder.

If I'm understanding this as what I think it is - that's not an error message at all! It's the input your recorder is currently set on (I'm talking about the "L2" shown in the right side of the LED display when the unit is powered on, where the channel number would usually be.) In order to change that, you have to open the bottom flap on the front of the machine (or slide open the remote bottom for the record controls to be exposed,) and press the "Input Select" button twice until it cycles through L3 and ends on whatever channel you last left it on - I think it defaults to 100 if the power has been interrupted. When you press this button after that, it would cycle through "L1", "L2", "L3", and the channel input (or coaxial cable input, to be exact), as expected. I know of no other "L2" message you might be speaking of. If I'm incorrect on this, I apologize. But I hope I'm not and that this simple issue is all that is causing you a headache! Good luck! And by the way, "L1,2, & 3" are the RCA/S-Video inputs on the back (L1 and L3) and on the front (L2) of your machine for various things you might plug in (video cameras, etc.) Note: For L1 and L3 ONLY, you have to go into setup to select whether you will be using the RCA yellow or S-Video jack on the back of the machine for the video of that particular input (with no bearing on the RCA audio jacks for that particular input - they're always used...) - the front L2 input evidently selects on its own between S-Video and the RCA yellow plug, based on which plug has something plugged in. I haven't tested to see which it will select if they are both occupied with a plug on L2. I don't mean to treat you like an idiot -- please don't take it that way - but I don't know how much you know about electronics, and IF I'm right about this whole thing, then I'm sort of assuming you aren't too familiar with them. In either case, please know that I mean well, and any information that you already know, just overlook. Thanks, and again, good luck!

Have an LG washer displaying an OE code what could be the problem

An OE error code means that the washer is not draining properly. Pull the filter out at the bottom left corner to make sure that the filter is not plugged with debris. Read your manual before pulling the filter out so you don't flood your room.
Good luck.

Lots of IE messages, water not loading into washer before cycle

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

'IE' for LG washers means 'Inlet (water) Error'.

This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs a service call to confirm that it is not something else like the control board which is not controlling the valve ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Do you need to keep the door open when not being used. i know some models require that.

Hi,

There's no special requirement that you need to keep the door open. But, If you keep it closed after your done washing, some water is usually left behind and if you don't wash for a few days it could make the first few loads have a certain musty odor. I always leave the door open for a few days to dry out the insides then close the door and I haven't noticed the musty smell. Good luck.

Over heating change thermastat waterpump radiator

you have a bad head gasket, best cheapest fix, is Blue Devil. its a great sealer and its pretty permanent. I have used this on at least 3 Subarus' and I haven't had any problems again.

Just be sure to follow the instructions to the FULLEST and VERBATIM, how ever you don't need the whole bottle, i usually keep the other half for a year then throw it away, if I dont use it before then, also it is 100% money back guarantee. so no loss there anyway...

LG Tromm washing machine model WM2487HWM has an error code. First letter looks like a capital E without the top horizontal line. second letter is an E

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
That's 'te' standing for temperature error/ heating error. Before you call an engineer try emptying the washer then pouring a couple of kettles of boiling water into the drum and leaving for 30 minutes then see. Another thing is to empty a couple of packets of limescale remover into the drum together with a couple of kettles of boiling water (again!) and leaving overnight. It possibly needs de-scaling anyway ;-0) If these fail it will be an engineer call, sorry ;-0(
Good luck, John C

What is problem code IE and how do I fix it on my LG front load washing machine?

An IE error code will appear if the washer has not filled with water in approximately 8 minutes. If an IE error code appears on the washer, check to make sure both hot and cold-water taps are open completely. After both valves have been opened, unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle. if this doesn't help then there are filters on the inlet hose connections of the washing machine. They are intended to filter away mineral deposits from hard water and other debris from getting into the unit. If clogged, water will not flow through these filters into the washer. Turn off both the hot and cold water taps, disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the washing machine, and clean the inlet filters gently but thoroughly. wm_inlet_filter_removal(1).jpg
Hope this helps.
