My Samsung smart tv & my dvd/bluray player recorder I bought at same time. Haven't had blurays til now & wont play at all. Rental ones did now I've bought my own & they don't play! Not tech minded.HELP

Each DVD player is assigned a code for the region in which it's sold. For example USA/Canada are Region 1 players. DVD players will refuse to play discs not coded for its specific region. In effect, this means that a DVD purchased in one country is normally unreadable on a DVD player bought in another region.

If your rental DVDs work in the player then there is nothing wrong with your DVD player. If you have purchased DVDs that do not work the problem is with the DVDs you have, not with the DVD player.

Problems with Sonic Adventure 2 for Dreamcast, please Help!

Usually when a Dreamcast game freezes, it's because the system is having trouble reading the disc. Make sure there are no smudges or scratches on the disc. If the disc is scratched and you decide to get it resurfaced (many secondhand video game stores and movie rental places will offer this service at a very low cost) make sure you ask them to use the lightest setting possible--I've heard that resurfacing a Dreamcast disc too aggressively can make it completely unreadable.

If it's not the disc, it could be a problem with your console, but that sounds unlikely since it does it at the same part of the game every time.

Ok, I have recently been having this problem with my Xbox 360. About a month ago, I kept getting Disc is Unreadable error, but it was only for 5 games that I mainly play. I sent this Xbox in and I was sent...

Possibly you tilted or moved the Xbox when a game was running, this will scratch the game beyond repair, or maybe you played the games so long that they were laserburnt, meaning they were burnt from the laser inside of the Xbox that reads it, making they sometimes unplayable, you could try taking the games back to the store and returning them for a new one.

Unreadable disc

Sounds like the Xbox is trying to find a piece of data that it need to go further and because of a dirty or scratched disk, it can't find it. If you want to verify whether it's your disk or your Xbox, go to your local game rental store and rent a copy of the same game to see if you have the same problem.

Unreadable discs for xbox360 after playing them for approx 30 min

This happens when the laser is set too low power, ideally the laser should be set to around 280ohms where yours may be at 400 or thereabouts., replacement lasers will fix this problem or if its possible maybe a re-alignment would also make it work again. Replacing the part is very easy and you can find the lasers on ebay for around £15. If you get stuck and need help we offer a full repair service www.fixmyconsole.co.uk

Disc Unreadable

Your laser lens is going out and needs replacement. Either replace the whole drive (but switch out your old circuit board into the new drive) or buy a new laser and install it in (model number is etched into the bottom of the laser).

You have to switch your old board out of the old drive into the new due to Microsoft having "Keys" locked into each drive so you cant fix your system easily. So remember to keep the boards seperate and switch the old board into the new drive and install the new drice... should fix it nicely.

I Knocked Over My Xbox 360 Recently And I Was Playing A Game ,And The Disc Was Unread So I Took It Out And It Was Filled With Circular Scratches .. Can I Make It Work, And What Has Happened To It?

if it is the disc you are referring to ..find someone who has a disc polisher...video rental stores are you best bet..they need them to polish marks out of disc when they rent them ..provided the marks are not to bad ,this should fix it .. your console may have moved the laser .use an old disc first to see .you dont want to scratch disc again after it has been polished.
