Modems are used for dial up connections either to the internet or for faxing. Dial up internet is almost obsolete, faxing is still used with modems, mainly in the business world, but it too will soon be obsolete. I'd say that modems will no longer be a part of any computer with in the next three years.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How do I to change the boot options in BIOS setup to UEFI settings for a HP 840 laptop

why do that, its big trouble. (GPT conversion)
why not leave it as HP built it so when you need help.
recovery works and full support happens.

oops you already dropped off the UEFI cliff of hell.

why not ask HP this, we are not HP here, its just chat room/blog bs.

why do ?
Microsoft has a program called MBR2GPT (avoid this , IMO)
this app fails, 1 in 10 times, leaving you INOP. (DOA, dead in the water)

now your F11 key will be dead the HP recovery key.

next time ask here

you have 2 choices now.
1: power on and hope F11 gets you back to like new.?
2: buy the HP media kit to re-install the unstated OS.

put the bios back as you found it, safeboot off
and run F11 restore mode. power on , hit f11 many times to get that mode.
F11 takes you back to day 1, OS. and all HP files and apps and drivers...... its purpose is that.

if you upgraded this pc, then all that is gone.

My toshiba touchscreen stopped working

first get a functioning monitor with a usb connection plug it into your toshiba if that external monitor comes on, access your contol panel monitor setup and see if what the setting is -internal/external monitor if the setting is ok( one monitor relates to the built in monitor / two monitor relates to external monitor) go into safe mode and see if that helps in addition (if n/g with the external monitor the problem could be a missing/corrupt driver/and or virus lastly sys bd=buy another laptop)with external monitor on and you tried everything and built in monitor doesn't function = choice= repair built in monitor or buy another lap top.let me know how things go?

Motherboard manual m7a625

The manufacturers of motherboards only provide manuals for mainboards that are produced for the purposes of system building. There is no market for laptop system building since you cannot buy the parts independently. Motherboards for pre-built machines are built to the manufacturers specifications and have customized features in their chipsets and CMOS for the machine being built. You cannot obtain manuals for these motherboards as a stand-alone item.

You just buy a laptop with built wireless card or built in WIFI capability since you will buy a wireless router, that built in modem that you are saying is a modem use for dial up and you do not need that because I believe you have a broadband connection like cable or DSL internet...
