My sanyo wont take photos any longer but it will let me scroll through the pics on the card

You can delete the photos by formatting the memory, go to the camera's Menu and scroll through the settings to Format memory.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Your camera is a 12 megapixel camera. The picture files are very large. If you can get 67 pics from a 256mb card, you're very lucky. With this camera, you should use a larger card....1,2, or even 4GB.

Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. I have a simular problem with my Sanyo. I know this sounds weird, but I have noticed if you shake the camera a little, the photo viewer comes back and pics can be taken. Also.. there is a spot that says 3x Digital zoom on the top of the camera, I also noticed if I put a little prssure on that spot with my fingers, the viewer comes back. I don't know if something might be loose, but thought maybe this information would help you.
