This camera has a single Mic - make sure your finger isn't over it though -- try making a recording in a closed room - no wind noise - is there still static ??
Go through settings and see what choices there are -- like outdoor , indoor . close to subject etc.
My CAM had a close up and background button - which was a sensitivity setting - and the background setting picked up EVERY sound from miles around and filled the tape with noise. The close up setting only picked up sound from bout 2 - 3 meters.
Do you also have an external plug for a Mic ? this would also check whether it's the camera mic or recording that is at fault ??

Background noise recording with dell

Get a wired lapel microphone and plug it into the microphone input on your Dell. The onboard mic is designed to record all ambient sounds. You want a different product to get the result you're looking for.

I recorded videos at a concert with the new nikon coolpix L810 and the sound on the video is horrible. What is causing the noise in my video? sounds like wind is blowing or a crackling noise

The problem is the microphone on the camera. The mic on the camera is for recording sound in more normal environments. The sound level on a typical concert is much higher than normal, and the mic on the camera just doesn't have what it takes to record sound at those levels.

One possible solution is to record the sound with a dedicated audio recording device, and combine the video and audio in your video editing software.

My Canon PowerShot SD300 was recording sound perfectly a few days ago. Now whenever I record a video and play it back there is no sound except for static. I have resetted the settings to factory defaults...

When you play the video back and get no sound are you doing this on your camera or on the computer? I have the same camera, and noticed that when I playback something I've recorded I don't have sound either, mind you I don't have static either. But once I've uploaded the video onto my pc the sound is there.

Technics SL1200MK2 - audio issue with ''s'' sounds only

Try some anti-static record cleaner. You can also get an anti-static matt to put the records on.

Loud noise when trying to set to record or to play the noise is like loud static and I have to turn off both the TV and the DVD player to get it to stop the noise  I suspect it is the control

When you hear the static, turn power off and then back on again and it will go away. Some players have been know to do that. It is a problem with the programming. Just turn power off and right back on again and it should be fine.

try setting the options on the sound recording lower and try to find the wind audio correction selection. that should work.

I've worked on several of the NAD players.

Sounds like a focus or gain adjust needed.
