Hey please help me,does home choice laptops support windows 7 because my friends formated the hardrive please help me i realy dont know what to do,i tried installing windows 7 starter but it does&

Unless your laptop is very old, it should support Windows 7.
Did you format the disk as FAT32 or NTFS ? either of these two will do. Did Win 7 actually install correctly ? or did the install fail ?
You sure the Win 7 disk is legit ?

Laptop came with windows 7 factory installed on it. A friend accidently formatted the hard drive.

Either download an installer disk on to a DVD or partition a harddrive with an installer disk on it. Boot from that disk and restart the computer, it should boot up and ask to install Windows 7.

HARD DRIVE NOT EXIST ERROR!!!

If you installed Linux successfully on your hard disk then the hard disk is OK.
If you are installing Windows Xp and it does not detect the hard disk but the BIOS detects the hard disk then -
The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

I have samsung rv 509 i3,500 gb laptop.i tried installing windows7. it gets installed but when the installation is complete,,,it stucks on STARTING WINDOWS...and dont go further beyond this... xp works...

I solved same problem.
Just format the system tools partition 100MB/350MB and then go for clean installation (format of disk 0 and install) 99.99% you problem will clear.

I have problem to install window xp in my laptop, which already have window vista....my notebook donot support to install xp..please tell is there any way to install xp...

What is your problem specifically? Is it that there is no hard disk detected when you try to install windows xp?

Try using third party software to detect the hard disk on your laptop
Try this link. It will basically give you your hard drive driver while installing windows xp. You will also need an external floppy disk drive if you dont have diskette drive in your laptop.

Window boot manager

hi Some laptops (actually most to all ) have a partition on the master drive called a restore sector. What you can try to do is restore from this sector. To do this all you have to do is boot from that drive :) (dont worry it aint complicated) When you turn on the laptop it ask you to press a certin key to enter boot menu menu usually F9 F10 or F11 press it and then select the second part of the Local Disk it sould look like Drive 0-1 or 0-2 well you will see it the first will be the normal boot the second the Restore sector. If that dont work or it aint there simply borrow a windows disc from a friend. Dont worry it aint going to do a full install. it will detect the disc and then repair it self and boot normally. Then you may remove the disc and return it.

If you need further help please contact me.
