Viewsonic VX724 LCD Monitor

I have been experiencing the same picture goes out phenomenon, picture goes out and power light (green blinks). I have been able to get it back after a few minutes of power cycling. I have determined its a monitor issue vs. a PC issue. The outage tends to be some what random but regular.

hi I have the same problem. I don't know anything about capacitors etc, but I think I got a few blown ones or I can just replace them all. My question is where do I find the replacement capacitors? I was only able to find 1 at Frys that I've replaced but no luck. I don't know what the numbers mean, I just tried to match them. Anyways I couldn't find these, here are the numbers: 330uF25v, 330uF35v, (brown one w/ crack on side) H154J D 250MMP3. Thank you in advance.

The power switch light (green) started flashing intermittently but I didn't have any other problems. This went on for about six months and tonight the monitor died. I notice that the green light continues to flash but rapidly. If it stays lit (powered up) for any length of time, usually seconds, the monitor (picture) returns. But just as fast it all goes out again. This is only two years old and I can't find my receipt!! ARGGHHHHHHH!!!!

Monitor stopped working after changing some settings via XBOX360, playing that way for a few hours, shutting it down and attempting to turn it back on again..

I think I might have found the broken capacitor? Can
someone please help me I.D this capacitor? It looks broken to me.
    The numbers on it is:

    H154J D

    250MPP3

I have no idea what this means and I can't find it on "Mouser". A
link to buy the new part would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

I contacted ViewSonic and they agreed to fix the problem as a warranty repair. Evidentially they're experiencing the same issue on many of these monitors. I had to pay for shipping to their Walnut, CA facility, they'll fix it and pay return shipping. Since it is considered a warranty repair, I think they should've paid for a round trip ticket. I don't want to sound like a cheapskate but it is a warranty repair and the shipping charge was $98.00. Ouch! Cheaper than a new monitor I spose, so I'm thankful for that. So those of you with this problem might consider contacting ViewSonic to see if they will repair this on a recall "like" basis if your warranty is up. If it isn't up yet, by all means send it back to them and make them fix it!

I will try to replace the capacitors and if anything check on the warranty. Or maybe it will become a target next time I go shooting.

Hi.
If it isn't capacitors, It is usually the transistors that feed the backlight output transformers.
I fix many VX units with these issues.

Inside on one of the boards you will find a blown capacitor or capacitors, they need to be replaced. it will require soldering.

If your ViewSonic LCD monitor has stopped working with a blinking green power button, It typically means that there is one or more failed capacitors in the monitor. It would be best to send the monitor in to Viewsonic for service or to purchase a new monitor.
