Connecting DELL Laptop to Mitsubishi WS-65869 Projection HDTV purchased in 2001

Not sure if this service still works but I am trying to connect my DELL Inspiron 6000 laptop to my Big Screen TV. I have a blue VGA port in the back of my laptop and I think I can connect it to my TV through the component video cable area in the back. But, I am unsure what cable I need to get the best picture from my laptop to my TV. Also, I am about to get a PS3 and bought an Altona component switch so I could get the most out of my PS3. However, I am a bit confused on what cable I need in order to plug the switch into the TV once the PS3 is plugged into the switch. Needless to say, I am very electronic ignorant and need some advice from guys who know their stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Actually, it is a bit more involved. I did buy the cable but needed to buy a switch so I could plug in the PS3 with the component cable as well as my HDTV cable box, and then run the component cable from the switch to the DTV outlet in order to get 1080i for my PS3. That gives me 1080i HDTV for my channels, Blu Ray DVD's, and my PS3 games all plugged into the switch and all connected to the Mits in the DTV input, which is the only 1080i input on the TV. I found a tech guy who solved this for me. Thanks.

Mitsubishi 65" WS-65869 Blinking Green Light 3-2 pattern,

two ideas:

Make sure you tested the pico fuses inside the unit with the caps==two or three of them.

Also from front of set behind speaker grill unplug both plugs that go up to front keyboard--set will still work with remote===if set functions now then the reset micro switch is bad/damaged.

normally you need a converter box for hd because normal stations are broadcasted in hd.....its not common enough for them to do it...and you probably have to buy a package with your cable company for the hd channels. another thing...is your tv hd ready?

Your problem is not shown on schematic, C9A60 (470 pf @ 1000 v) capacitor and check and see if F9A04 & 05 are open. If so then its off to a whole different area. Do you have an email to send Sch.?
