Sounds as if the gasket material on the door needs to be replaced. It's allowing to much air into the firebox, thus causing the flame up you're seeing. Or, the door just may not be closed tightly.

Hope that helps solve your problem.

Hi, I have a 1980 Honda XR250. The compression is around 120 (with decompression disconnected). It blows smoke and will not rev high - I assumed carb dirty, cleaned it but still reluctant to go to high...

Might be a good idea to check your timing first and then if the timing is ok try removing your exaust pipe and running it for a few minutes without the exaust system installed. I have encountered a couple of bikes where the exaust system has carboned up and will not allow the engine to breathe especially at hiogher rpms. A day in the gunk tank for the exaust pipe did the trick and the bike ran like new. (Gunk will remove all the paint too)

The heater will not ignite in order to heat our home. The fan is still working, however the flames that usually light up to heat the air are not turning on.

Check for a codeon the control board. Also while the system is trying to start up, do you see the ignighter glowing, If not prolem could be a bad igniter. Problem could also be an obstruction in the exaust pipe, if this is the first time of the season it is turned on, and it is not firing, check to see if a bird got into the exaust pipe that vents to the outside. You need to provide more information, such as a code to troubleshoot this problem.

The most likely and more common problem you are describing is affiliated with the flame sensor. The good news is that you can generally correct this problem with a scotchbrite pad and/or some light emory cloth. I'm going to give you a link to a youtube video that shows you how it's done.

I have aan armstrong model uhpa145al-3 commercial heater that sits in high in the cieling of a warehouss. the board flashes twice which the label says means system lockout or failure to sustain flame ....

Flame sensor would be my first diagnosis. Take it out and clean it with some emery cloth or some light grit sand paper and put it back in should be fine just needs to be cleaned.

I have a rinnai heater and it stopped working all

rinnai, toyostove and monitor heaters are basically all the same. first you have to make sure your fuel valve is open at the tank. next you have to reset the tank lockout on the sump. then set your set point higher than your room temperature. now press on. the unit will go through a 300 second purge cycle. the pot heater should turn on when the purge cycle starts. after the purge cycle the fuel pump turns on and pumps fuel into the pot. when it vaporizes the igniter lights it. when a flame is detected the flame rod says ok to keep running so the fuel pump shifts into high speed. when plenum temperature reaches a preset level the fan turns on.
