Most cars have maintenance lights,. it is a great way that the factory gets you back to the dealer at regular intervals of 30,60,90, 120k miles - check your odometer,. sometimes just driving a few miles will shut off automatically, otherwise an obd2 reader could reset the codes..
if this a check engine light? then get the codes read to determine the real problem...
remember, more details you put in here are better..
Best regards
Ck

Reset maintenance light

There are 2 way to reset the maintenance light on Civic.
1. Manually reset
To reset this maintenance light, you will put the key in the ignition. Next you will press and hold the odometer reset knob, which can be found on the dash where the car's current mileage is located. While you continue holding that know, you will turn the key to the first position but do not start the engine. After about 10 seconds, the maintenance light should disappear. If the light is still on, you can turn off the vehicle and then try the process again. Once the light is off, you are all set until your next schedule maintenance.

2. Hook up a HDS (Honda Diagnostic System) software on a laptop, the light will go off within minutes.

Maintenance Light goes on/off/on

When your vehicle is coming up for due maintenance, the light will flash for a few when you start the car. When the time for scheduled maintenance is due, the light will remain on constantly. It's just routine maintenance, but if you haven't done it, that's your reminder. Then, you or your mechanic will have to reset that maintenance reminder light.

If your brakes need changing will your maintenance required light come on?

No the maintenance light comes on at a set mileage interval to remind you that your vehicle will be do for oil or some other scheduled maintenance. Low brakes will not trigger the light. If there is a serious problem with the braking system it will trigger the red brake light on the dash.
