Question about Sharp Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Sharp model cd-mpx850 mini component system won't play a disc all the way through. About 1 minute to 1-1/2 minute it will stop playing and a code TOC Read is displayed. I tried to reset and clear the codes but won't correct. Any ideas????

SOURCE: CD's won't play

I have an Emerson Audio System (MS3110) and the cd's won't play and the screen is displaying a message "TOC Read" . What does this mean? We've tried to reset it but it still does not work. The radio plays fine. Thecd's won't spin to play. Can you help?

SOURCE: Kenwood RXD25 CD player intermitent??

Hi jenoss

Sounds like the unit has either a failing load belt to the cd drawer mechanism, not allowing the transport to fully load the cd. Give the unit a gentle tap just after the drawer closes and see if it resolves the problem.

OR a faulty spindle motor, you will have to take the lid off and after pressing play, give the disc a gentle "kickstart". If it then begins to run, then the motor is the problem.

If you find it is neither of these, get back to me here and I we shall go further

Graeme

The code CD20 means Tray error. The cd mechanism will have to be reset by a serviceman .

Try another mini-disc, if the disc is working fine, then there is a problem in the reader. You might have to replace it.

SOURCE: Sharp BA2100 3 CD mini component system - NO DISC

This is a relatively common problem when the optics get dirty. If you can reach the lens, try cleaning it using a cotton swab and alcohol. Don't bother with the "cleaning discs" available as all they can do is bruch off the dust. These lenses sometimes get a smoke or dirt film on them that the brushes can not celan.

Keep us posted.

Chances are the loading mechanism is out of alignment. Very hard to realign this mech. even the manufacturer just replaces the entire mechanism when repairing.

sounds like a codec issue.... what format are you burning to disc? are you able to connect your system to your computer? id try different formats on burning discs first. ive had this problem with other cd players and funny thiong is i have a really old denon cd player that that is bout my age or a lil older and im 31 that will play burned discs but yet alot of newer players wont and its all bout codecs and copyright protection these days so hopefully this will help you.... also try different brand of blank discs.

CD player will not recognise or play disc

Hi,

how long have you been using this player? The problem should be from the lens (laser).

The lens is weak and that's why it cannot read/load Cd's. The weak lens is also what's making it not recognize or play disc.

Get a lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, but if the lens still does the same thing even after using the lens cleaner, then it means you would have to change the whole lens completely to a brand new one.

By so doing your player would play all Cd's with no problem at all.

Good luck.

THE SYSTEM SHOWS ME ER-CD01 AND ALSO THE PLAYER WONT PLAY THE CD, IT DOESN'T EVEN READ THE CD

this is a standard reset so if its a problem with the programming this should do the trick if it does not either your cd or laser lens is no longer doing its job properly

turn on the set-press the on stanby button, allow the set to enter demo mode. now press the power button while pressing the stop and eject button, clear all will display

hope this helps

How can i play my ipod - do i insert jack into phones and ipod, then what do i need to do?

If you dont have an ipod port, then run a 1/8" audio cable from the Headset jack to the Line Input or Aux input of your stereo. If your stereo receiver has Left and Right RCA style connector inputs, you can find simple cheap adapters at Best Buy.
Good luck
