Dell E1505 internal speakers not working

I am having problems with the audio on my laptop (Dell E1505). If I plug in external speakers the audio works, but when I unplug them there is no audio. I have already tried updating my driver and downloading new drivers from the Dell site and the audio is still not working.

You have verified that the sound card and drivers are working, by plugging in externals. This leaves only the speakers. Check and clean the speaker connections, they will sometimes work loose or get a little dirt/corossion build up. If the connections are good, then you will need to replace the speakers.

I cannot get sound from my internal speakers on dell d600 latitude. Headphones work and sound comes out of internal speakers briefly when pulling jack plug out? So I know they work but just cannot get...

This sounds like a defective audio port. In normal operation, plugging in a headphone plug breaks the connection to the speakers. On your laptop, when you pull out the plug it makes a connection, but only briefly. Unfortunately the audio port is built into the system board. I don't think you will find a software fix for this problem. Your best bet is to get a USB sound device for external speakers.

My Dell D620 lost audio on the laptop today. Went

Try system restore, if it fails, try to perform 32 bit dell diagnostics on the audio by booting the computer using the resource cd. make sure that the external speakers is disconnected. if still no sound on the diagnostics then you need to replace the internal speakers.

My speakers don't work, I can plug in head phones or external speakers and they do work. it started after my son repeatedly pluged and unpluged the external speakers

There is a microswitch in the speaker jack of the system. It disables the on-board speakers when external speakers are connected. If sounds like that switch is stuck and the on-board speakers are staying disabled when the jack is removed.

Stereo Speaker troubleshooting

It sounds like the audio jack itself has internal damage. Depending on how it is mounted on your laptop case, or possibly on an internal circuit board inside the laptop; it might be possible to repair the jack or replace with a new 1/8" audio jack. Some soldering skill may be required after disassembling the laptop and getting access to the jack.

Audio problems

Try to go to the device manager or make sure that you see the volume icon on your system tray if you see it but you can't click then there might be a problem on the driver. if not then you need to ask somebody to check if your motherboard is broken.
