well, i finally found the website for logitech and found an article on there from a tech guy, (i guess that is what he does) the article was titled, "How to make your logitech camera work in an im." when i read that i followed the instructions and know it is not my cam, but the messenger i was using. i don't know what to do about that because it is yahoo and there support is NILL!!!!!!, i repeat NILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it takes some finding (the article) but it says to try your cam for 5 minutes making a video from quick capture. if it works ok then it is the website and not the cam. may i say yahoo stinks! also he said that it is 99% of the time the website is the problem. not a quote. hope this helps someone out there that is having the same trouble.
Have you updated DirectX?, I'm not sure if Vista has DX9.0 or 9.0c, but you could try and update DirectX before you install the cam software.
Also if the cam is usb, did you install the software "before" connecting the cam?, some people aren't aware that usb devices have to have the software installed first, before connecting the device.
