Question about JBL CREATURE II Computer Speakers

Europe-to-usa power supply problem?

I bought my speakers about 8 months ago, in Europe. Never had a problem using them. I recently moved back to the United States. I plugged in the speakers with an adapter, and hooked everything up. The power-on LED on the subwoofer is lit, but the leds on the satellite speakers are not. There is no sound at all from the speakers. What gives? Is this a problem with the power supply, maybe?

Hello Sarah, I brought mine in Europe too and found out that they are rated for 220 VAC while in the US you will need a 110 VAC power adapter so if this is your case you need to buy a replacement.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Whirlpool electric dryer 220V bought in USA and brought it to Europe Serbia. I was told that USA 220V and Europe 220V is not same. I did not plug it in yet can someone tell me what to do. Thanks

the voltage is approximately the same, the difference is the frequency of incoming power as power delivered in the USA is at 60 Hz. and power in Europe is at 50Hz. so some electronic parts will not operate on this frequency, you might be able to purchase a power/frequency inverter unit but not sure on this, talk to your power provider as they may have the answer to this

Macintosh aoc monitor refresh rate

Europe has different power supply parameters than the USA, Obviously you discovered the voltage difference, hence the transformer, but the USA sends AC voltage at 60 cycles per second while most of Europe is at 50 cycles. You need a converter, not a transformer, if your monitor is capable, you may be able to set it to operate on the different frequency from display settings, or the monitors internal menu

We have bose 9 speaker system from usa 110v it was my fathers we have brought it back to spain which is 240v can you help ie transformers

Probably every electrical supply store in Europe sells tranformers for American (110V) gear.

Google "240 - 100 transformer Europe"

What's a Bose 9? You mean 901? Before you try to use it get the manual from and wrap your head around it's requirement for exclusive use of any amplifier.

What should the input power supply be

The input is USA 110 - 120 Volts AC, Europe, 230 - 250 V AC.

A lot of adapters will work on anything from 90 V AC to 250 V AC, it is clearly indicated on the actual unit itself, if you look. If it is, it can be used anywhere.

Will a TV made for Europe perform OK in the USA using a step-up transformer ??? Are the channel frequencies the same ??

NOT unless it is a DUAL frequency Standard, as Europe is PAL & SECAM, USA is NTSC. Also the HERTZ is different too 50Hz Europe, 60Hz USA, so really NO. IF it would work, it would have an international power supply, meaning it was usable any where in the world. and also it would have a multi tuner. Otherwise it will NOT go.

Using a USA bought pc LCD monitor in Europe?

It's correct! Most (!) of the lcd monitor adapters are Auto-ranging, 90 to 265 VAC, Also the 50Hz (Europe) and 60Hz difference isn't a problem anymore for nowadays monitors, even not with build in power supply monitors.

But be sure that it's really capable of autoranging, ask your dealer or check out the specifications on the box or the website of the manufacturer of your choice!

Good luck!
