If your button stopped working it can be causing an extra drain on your battery via a short of some kind. Because of the sensitivity of cell phones you will probably have to replace the phone. Most likely causes for this problem are:

  • wear and tear
  • dropping the phone
  • poor battery maintenance
  • getting the phone wet or using the phone in the bathroom (seriously).

Here are a couple of codes to soft/hard reset/format a Nokia N95 mobile device:
Soft reset code *#7370#
Hard reset code *#7780#
If the hard format code mentioned aboive does not work, try the following manual method to hard reset/format Nokia N95:
+ Turn off the mobile device.
+ Press and Hold the following three buttons: the green Call Answer button, the "*" button, and the number "3? button.
+ While holding these buttons, turn on the phone and keep holding the keys untill the mobile phone restarts and prompts you to enter details.

Not showing full memory-China mobile N95 8GB

You can try to restore to factory default with *#7780# (you will not lose any data).

If it doesn't work, backup all your data first because you will lose all and do a soft reset with *#7370# (default pass is 12345).

As a last resort there is the hard-reset:
1) Make sure phone is fully charged and switched off.

2) Press simultaneously the green "call" button, "*" and "3" and keep them down.

3) With those 3 keys down, switch the phone on.

4) Release the 3 keys when the phone shows signs of life such as the Nokia logo or the language selection screen.

Nokia n95 back to english from chinese

You're going to lose all your data in any case, but try resetting it to factory settings by pressing *#7370#. The phone will ask if you want to restore all original settings. Press the left soft key Which may be showing "唯" It will then ask for a number, in Chinese of course. Just press 12345 and then press that "唯" left soft key again.

Then whack your friend in the lug-hole :P

Hope that solves your problem.

My Nokia N95 battery discharges in 6 hours.

check WLAN and bluetooth first if it is switched on it will end up in short battery life Secondly

may be ur battery is faulty bcoz sometimes battery life ends in 1 year if charge cycles are enuff it also depends how ur phone OS handles the battery usage i mean how much it needs to standby and work and also the network quality i mean signal strength how hard ur phone has to strive for signals in remote areas or far from towers

pls try this first b4 buying battery

try resetting the phone like this

1) *#7370#, then enter 12345 (This is the default security code unless the user has changedit) and then Yes. The phone then wipes all apps and phonebook contactson the internal memory.

if problem persists then pls update urphone software from www.nokia.com select ur region and ur phone fromlist then download software update application backup ur data if itlets u do it and then download the phone software and update ur phonewith latest software if problem is still there then

Buy a battery !!
